HBHA Seniors, Stones settle for tie

The HBHA Seniors learned the hard way that M.Pace was just that good on this night. The fierce forward scored three out of the Stones four goals and were glad to escape this match with at least a point. On the large part, the HBHA Seniors had the better chances with long stretches of ball control but weren't able to break the game wide open. If not for M.Pace's responses, the HBHA Seniors would have grabbed three points while the Stones would have suffered their first defeat so far. G.Djevahirdjian had a big first period posting two markers for the Seniors. After a decent display of goaltending- from both sides, C.Stavriadis and C.Muccino were lights out in the shootout stopping every attempt their way.

A.Jalilvand gets it done in overtime for Devil Dawgz

Unable to seal it in regulation time, the Devil Dawgz needed extra minutes to collect a second straight overtime win. This time, it was the Blacksox falling victims after their captain B.Pereira tied it late in the game to force the sudden death period. For the large part, the Devil Dawgz were in command never trailing but didn't have the breathing room against a side that weren't letting up. Both teams had no hero's in this contest with scoring efforts- form seven different players. Despite the loss, the Blacksox do feel better about this performance after a thumping in last week's affair with the HBHA Seniors.

Hawks send early message in 6-4 decision over Bijoux

Entering the game, the Hawks would have had a hard time digesting a loss against a side with only two changes. And after storming out with conviction, the first period was were this contest got decided .The Hawks used three first period goals and J.Beaudry looked human after dominating the goaltending crease so far this season. A.Zarzour and G.Pellecchia surprised Beaudry with two rockets while E.Girouard got a perfect feed -from S.Govas for an easy tap in goal. Still, the game was-from over and the Hawks made sure to take nothing for granted. E.Colella added some security with a pair of tallies that included a blistering slap shot right in the top corner. Despite playing with only two changes, Bijoux showed why they are a solid team. There seven players had sequences of good pressure and made the Hawks work hard for every goal to earn the win. If not for the slow start, Bijoux had the potential to cause some serious heart burn to their opponent.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Marco Pace of the Stones. Every time the HBHA Seniors thought they were in control, M.Pace came back to bite them with three goals. His performance helped salvage the point for the Stones in a 4-4 draw with the HBHA Seniors.

Stones edge out Devil Dawgz after wild third period

It was hardly an anticipated defensive battle between the two sides. Instead things only got crazier as the match went on. The Devil Dawgz looked to be out of the woods building a 6-4 third period lead only to see it slip away in a flash. If anyone was able to spark the comeback than there was no doubt that player would be T.Settino. The highly skilled forward took it upon himself bagging two quick goals to tie the game 6-6. Then, only two minutes later the captain took charge. S.Sicuso provided the go ahead marker and the Stones never looked back preserving their unbeaten record.

Hard work pays off for Blacksox

Sometimes and often enough it’s all about hard work and determination. With the Hawks often looking hesitant at times, the Blacksox were completely relentless in their 6-5 win. Despite being down 5-3 after two periods, B.Pereira set the example for his side that ultimately crushed his opponent in less than two minutes. The captain collected three quick points that included two sharp shots for a hat trick. That was the first time the Blacksox took a lead and did a spectacular job defending it unlike the Hawks.
