(2)Butchers vs HC Mutts(6)
N.DeGregorio earns five points as HC Mutts roll over Butchers
N.DeGregorio did pretty much what he wanted accumulating five points versus the Butchers on Sunday night. Even though the HC Mutts had barely enough players, it surely didn't show. They built an enormous 4-0 lead before conceding a late second period goal. The Butchers did strike early in the final frame but couldn't find a way to pull within one. R.Mercandante eased all doubts by posting his second to confirm the victory. As much as the score appears to be lopsided, P.Delli Colli can be thanked for it as the net minder was sharp throughout the entire game for the HC Mutts.
(5)Fatal Demons vs Lynx(9)
Captain J.Lang keeps on scoring, Lynx catch Demons off guard early
With many story lines to this game, nobody can argue a great start along with a furry of goals by their captain made the difference. The Lynx took just over five minutes striking three times to blow the game wide open. The first two tallies came-from J.Mason, and the third goal by J.Lang, who went on another scoring rampage bagging four straight for his team. Despite their slow start, the Fatal Demons kept reminding the Lynx that they weren't done. They actually pulled within two goals and nearly narrowed the gap to one if not for a brilliant save by S.Catalano. By then, the clock kept winding down to its final moments where the Lynx were able to hang on. J.Proulx didn't score but helped make four goals happen in the win.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Nicolas DeGregorio of the HC Mutts. Five out of the HC Mutts six goals had N.DeGregorio's hands involved. The skilled forward scored twice bagging the winner while setting up three different teammates.
