1 Timer load up a pair of dramatic wins

Not only were the 1 Timer able to get the two wins, but they did it in the most dramatic fashion. K.Gagne provided the first victory by netting the lone shootout marker while M.Carpentier doubled up the glory with his game winner leaving all but one second on the clock. That was the forward's second goal as part of a three point performance. The United Arms, despite dropping the first encounter 3-2 in a shootout missed out on evening the score by the second game. They couldn't have asked for a better start except for one major mistake. The 1 Timer managed to trail only by one because of a shorthanded goal-from Carpentier. If not for that miss hap, the United Arms would have most likely collected three points. Instead, they couldn't protect a slight 2-1 lead that turned for the worse in the end.

Punishers use two big first periods to down Dr Block

In both their wins, the Punishers came out swinging versus the Dr Block. Twice they built 3-1 leads which proved to be more than enough. After five different players tallied en route to a 5-3 win, the second contest had two players each score twice for a similar result. C.Gingras upped his game by posting a pair while setting up two teammates. M.Gagnon was the other Punisher to solve R.Pelletier on two occasions. When looking back, the DR Block know that they could have done better against a side that was missing key elements. The Punishers simply played it smarter early on and benefited with two straight victories. Despite the loss, J.Martineau may have been the best player on the field finishing his night with four goals and an assist.

M.Gagnon lays down the hammer in mini sweep of Vitamin C

For significant stretches of time, Les Carmoni controlled most of the play. And by doing so, they produced plenty of chances making S.Sauk work hard for his money. The pace kicked in early on with scoring efforts-from three different players that resulted in a 3-1 victory. The second game only saw Les Carmoni take over as of the second period. After trailing 1-0, M.Gagnon went hulk mode riffling three straight markers to double up his opponent. V.Morin set up Gagnon twice in only two minutes, and P.Corbin continues to impress between the pipes allowing only three goals all night.

Degenerates desperation kicks in to late

Even though the scores were different in both games, the Degenerates faced the same kind of problem. They would fall behind and were forced to battle all game in hopes to even the score. Unfortunately, they couldn't get there in both circumstances with the first one ending 2-1.The second contest had a bizarre and twisted ending to it. Les Reds had everything going right for them and looked like they could do no harm in what appeared to be an easy win. After all, they did lead 3-0 and hadn't conceded a goal for well over half the game.  Then, out of nowhere, the Degenerates got their breaks mounting a remarkable comeback only to see it bite them in the end. Less than ten seconds was all that was remaining for M.Monteschio to break the late tie. Les Reds struck early in both games and did a great job protecting their lead for four entire periods.

No shock as Hustlers cruise for two easy wins

When arguably the top team of the top division is stacked versus a depleted line up, it's very safe to say that the Mighty Drunks had no chance. Seven minutes was all it took for the Hustlers to pop in six goals. Payam Assadi had the luxury of not having to run much and remained in his favourite spot that led to three goals. B.Vassilakis opened and closed the scoring while T.Bozinakis collected five points. Similar to the first game, the Hustlers never let go of the gas pedal in the second contest. G.Pisanelli struck twice in the first period that included a goal that only he can score. The highly skilled forward scored-from an impossible angle by using M.Melo's shoulder to re direct the ball behind the net minder. After being up 3-0, the Hustlers just cruised their way adding four more by the second with the help of E.Girouard's two markers. Possibly due to fatigue-from the opening game, Payam Assadi was nowhere to be seen in the second accumulating only two random assists. All in all, the Hustlers were expected to run up the score against a side missing many significant pieces.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Mathias Gagnon of Les Carmoni. Whatever M.Gagnon ate or didn't eat definitely worked for him on Monday night. The irritating defenseman was incredible in the span of only five minutes by bagging three big goals en route to a 4-2 win over the Vitamin C.

Tocas smother Corporation, walk away with 4 points

Even though the Corporation controlled much of the play, the Tocas played it smart by barely giving any time and space. Surely it helps with R.Ricaurte handing the pipes, but that was only part of it. The Tocas led twice in both games settling for one point in a shootout loss while finishing off stronger courtesy of a 2-1 victory in the second contest. J.Durante had a strong opening game setting up three different teammates for the Tocas. C.Maltese then came up big notching a key marker in the second encounter holding up as the winner. This contest was a typical playoff style match that worked very well in the Tocas favour. Knowing that the playoffs are just around the corner, the Corporation will need to adapt to every situation and adjust accordingly when they get there.
