(4)Carnage vs Mighty Drunks(3) Game 1
J.Bourlakos shorthanded goal holds up for Carnage
Rather than tying the game with a power play opportunity, the Mighty Drunks dug themselves deeper and ultimately paid the price in game 1. J.Bourlakos was clutch on two occasions for Carnage in the final fifteen minutes of play. First, he set up M.Pace to snap a 2-2 tie and then was able to double the lead with a man short. The Mighty Drunks managed to jump ahead twice during the match and only found themselves trailing when Pace struck early in the third period for his second of the game. Y.Dube scored twice in the loss while J-P.Bertrand scored once and collected an assist. With an hour to figure out what went wrong, the Mighty Drunks looked to correct some of their mistakes heading into game two.
(2)Mighty Drunks vs Carnage (3) Game 2
Mighty Drunks repeat woes-from game 1, Carnage crowned champs
Maybe it's easier said than done but the Mighty Drunks couldn't avoid what happened to them in game two like in the previous encounter. Twice they led like in the earlier meeting, and twice they gave up a third period shorthanded goal that stood for the winner. A golden opportunity towards the late stages of the game turned instantly into a nightmare for the Mighty Drunks. M.Pace scored shorthanded handed with less than two minutes remaining on the clock and Carnage bled out the clock en route to a wild victory. Entering the series, the Mighty Drunks understood that one of their main focuses was to try and slow down M.Pace. And while that's sounds like a reasonable task, some players are just that hard to contain. M.Pace was clearly vital in both wins scoring twice in game one and once in this contest that came in an extraordinary circumstance. On behalf of Hockeyballe.com, congratulations go out to Fabio Pace and the rest of Carnage for getting it done
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Marco Pace of Carnage. In a battle that could have easily gone either way, M.Pace was clutch providing three big goals at very crucial times during the series.
