(6)Shockers vs Fatal Demons(5)
Late push by Fatal Demons not enough as Shockers hang on for win
The Fatal Demons made a late push but it wasn't enough as they fell by a slight margin to the Shockers. Even though the score suggests a close game, the Shockers had plenty of control throughout most of the match. They led 3-1 after one period while carrying a 4-3 lead into the final frame. M.Blackman eventually put the game out of reach by striking twice in a very short span to complete his trick. It was from-that point on that the Fatal Demons made things interesting when E.Medrano scored shorthanded followed with a late goal by P.Paikopoulos. But with barely any time left over, the Shockers played out the clock in their favour to edge out a familiar opponent. T.Debonis opened the scoring and added two helpers for the Shockers while J.Bolanakis was stellar scoring twice in a four point performance for the Fatal Demons.
(2)Butchers vs Slayers (7)
Slayers explode in third to down Butchers
The Slayers put together a crucial and thrilling third period to come away with a 7-2 victory over the Butchers. The first two frames saw both teams measuring it up trading quality chances that kept the game levelled at two goals apiece. However, once the third period hit, only one team took command of the match. The Slayers used an early third period goal as part of a momentum swing that saw five straight go in. A.Moffa was a menace burying a hat trick that included the winner. The match was ultimately decided in a very short span with the Slayers striking three times in only a minute. The Butchers got both goals-from A.Latella and K.Kersaint as the only players to figure out C.Confuorti.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Matthew Blackman of the Shockers. The captain never seems to take a night off, this time producing three goals to jump start his team on the right foot.
