 (7)Black Knights vs Punishers(2)

Punishers fall victim to J.Gagne five point night

The match up between the Black Knights and the Punishers got off to a pretty one sided start on Monday. Black Knights forward J.Gagne notched a hat trick as part of a five point performance, and W.Ozair keeps finding the back of the net posting his second by the end of the second period. The Punishers clearly weren't at their best. For well over two periods, they couldn't get any offence going. F.Gagnon kept getting in the way denying every shot up until the mid way point of the third period where the Punishers finally cracked the barrier. B.Vassilakis and J.Rochon were the only two players to solve Gagnon, who went on to face 16 shots in his debut with Black Knights to earn the win in net.

(3)United Armenians vs Capitals(4)

Capitals rally with two late goals

The Capitals won a nail biter with a 4-3 victory over the United Armenians. The game was a drama filled, intense contest on Monday night that saw the Capitals score two late goals in the final minute to stun the United Armenians. P.Bibeau levelled the game right before M-A Bernier won it only seconds later. In what felt and seemed like a sure victory turned into a nightmare finish for the United Armenians. Both sides played through a scoreless first period. The second frame did belong to the United Armenians courtesy of three goals-from H.Jerjian, K.Kavan and Y.Derohannession. And while things appeared to be going in the right direction, 30 little seconds were all that was needed to kill off and secure the win. Instead, the Capitals made an incredible late push to steal the match-from their opponent.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Jonathan Gagne of the Black Knights. Once again, the Black Knights forward made a huge impact, posting a hat trick as part of a five point performance.

(4)GK vs River Rats(2) S.O

M.Fortin excels stopping two shootout attempts for GK

M.Fortin stopped 19 shots and two attempts in the shootout as the GK claimed a 4-2 victory over a familiar opponent. The River Rats grabbed two leads but couldn't build on them long enough as the GK responded both times to level. M.Dettore and J.Palmitano each tallied for the River Rats while P.DiGiacomo and A.Tan did the scoring for the GK. It came to no one's surprise that this game would go the distance. It's what came to be expected-from two evenly matched teams that understand each other's tendencies. And since a shootout was the only determining factor, the GK won the battle on this particular night. Already with a goal, P.DiGiacomo made his breakaway attempt count as did K.Kuczmarski, who seems to never miss in these situations.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to M.Fortin of the GK.  Apart-from having a stellar match during three periods of hockey, M.Fortin enabled his club to collect the win after frustrating M.Martineau and M.Dettore in the shootout.

Band Aids settle for tie with Quebec Master's on A.Palucci's late goal

The Quebec Masters looked like they were headed for a victory but the Band Aids had other ideas. Rescued by A.Palucci's late marker, neither team had the chance to celebrate a win on Thursday night. The start favoured the Quebec Masters building a 2-0 lead only to see it vanish for a moment early in the second period when B.Godfrey struck for a second time to put the Band Aids in front. Then, with the help of J.Correa's third and fourth assist, J-F Pilon was able to benefit twice to restore the lead for the Quebec Masters. That goal also came late in the game but couldn't hold up long enough. P.Farinelli had a strong night scoring twice as part of a four point performance for the Quebec Master's.

Throughout most of the match, the GK Lite played their usual poised and possession game that eventually led to a comfortable lead. Chaudry did manage to cut the lead in half shortly after but that was as close as it got for the Bengals HC.
