Venom top 50 in 07 in lopsided wins

It didn't take long for Venom to dictate the pace. Only eight minutes and change had gone by for them to build a comfortable 5-1 lead. J.Parisella connected twice early on before completing his hat trick in the second period. Knowing that the ensuing match was going to be just as difficult, the 50 in 07 hoped to address a better start. Unfortunately, much of what had just happened translated into the second game. Venom used five unanswered goals by the first to put the night to rest. Once again, Parisella wasn't to be denied adding two more tallies. N.Gilbert and J.Vinet were also productive as both players combined for a total of eleven points in both games.

1 Timer doomed by penalty trouble

Everything about the 1 Timers game was going in accordance to plan, except for one area. By visiting the penalty box in three occasions, the opportunity was missed in order to squeeze out a split with the Punishers. The Punishers comeback was led on three straight power play markers on scoring efforts-from three different players. A.Laramee was the one to snap a 3-3 tie giving the Punishers their first lead of the night. Still, the 1 Timer had another shot at redeeming themselves but did not have the luxury of playing with the lead. After a scoreless opening frame, A.Kobayati and P.Arkalis each found the back of the net for the Punishers which forced the 1 Timer to respond. T.Daigneault did cut the lead in half but the tally came to late leaving only 15 seconds on the clock.

A.Fonrose lifts Excalibur to 2-1 shootout win

In what was a dead heat low scoring battle, A.Fonrose`s shootout goal decided matters in the opening contest. The Excalibur only got on board later in the second frame when S.St-Louis finally got to Z.Sistosis. The Golden Boys went dry on their two shootout attempts unable to solve S.Sauk. Similar to the first encounter, the second one saw both sides keep it close trading only one goal. The only difference was that the Excalibur struck first thanks to the very same S.St-Louis. S.Sauk and Z.Sistotsis were solid in net giving every chance possible for their side to excel.

Les Unknown show no lack of energy with only 5 players

Whether it was the lack of a killer instinct-from the Dragons or that Les Unknown just played it smart neither side probably expected this kind of an ending. Les Unknown had only one change up and somehow found most of their energy by the last period of the second game. It was by then where they took over the match collecting five goals that saw A.Henein do something remarkable by bagging a hat trick. Granted, the Dragons were also without three significant pieces but still had the body count over their opponent. A.Porfido helped provide the win in the opening game on a pair of goals and an assist. Despite dropping the second encounter, P.Cardillo was a force accumulating three points that included two goals.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Scott Sauk of the Excalibur. The net minder was in superb form allowing only a total of two goals all night that included a pair of stops during the shootouts.
