M.Arkalis and Punishers eventually get serious in thumping of Excalibur

The first period on Monday night seemed like it could have gone either way. Then they solved the Excalibur's coverage and started to play harder resulting in a one sided affair. M.Arkalis put things into motion with two very quick goals for a 5-3 lead and the Punishers never looked back en route to a pair of victories. A.Laramee was vital to the quick start in the second encounter netting two markers. The Punishers avoided a sluggish start by running up the score to substantial 5-1 after one period. A.Sarigiannis opened and closed off the scoring to record a hat trick while P.Arkalis was feeling generous providing a handful of assists. Despite the losses, M.Bchuti gave the Excalibur a decent push by netting a first period hat trick as part of a five point night.

1 Timer face difficult challenge dropping both games to the Dragons

For how well things have been going so far for the 1 Timer, maybe tonight's challenge against the Dragons is a good wakeup call on what is to expect in the upcoming post season. The 1 Timer realised that it won't come easy as both games were played till the very end. Unfortunately, they couldn't get a positive result having to settle for a lone shootout point. The Dragons took a crazy first encounter after mounting a remarkable comeback thanks to a pair of goals-from P.Cardillo ,E.Girouard and D.Gagnon. The shootout winner however belonged to S.Robineault as the only player to score during the breakaways. Even though the second encounter was just as close, both sides decided to tighten up their game. And for a second straight time, the Dragons fought-from behind to capture another victory. Much of the success was attributed to E.Girouard and S.Robineault. The dynamic duo once again found a way to make a difference as both players complimented each other on all three goals.

Les Unknown run out of steam to settle for split with Degenerates

Unable to keep up a rampant pace, Les Unknown didn't have the surge they needed in order to sweep the Degenerates. At some point it seemed inevitable that the Degenerates would get it right by just playing harder than their opponent. They may have dropped the opening contest, but by battling hard, it was just a question of time before they would take over. Scoring efforts came-from four different players that included the winner by Q.Joseph. Les Unknown got their winning tally in the earlier match courtesy of M.Morin, who participated in all three goals for the win. It's only been recent that the Degenerates are starting to play some good hockey. By adding F.Baratta between the pipes along with a better structured game, things are finally falling into place for the Degenerates.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Simon Robineault of the Dragons. There was no doubt that the Dragons sniper was influential in both wins over the 1 Timer. After netting the shootout winner in the first contest, S.Robineault collected three straight points in the ensuing match to edge out his opponent for a second straight time.
