HBHA Seniors go the distance to win Masters 35+ division
It took a third and deciding game for the HBHA Seniors to claim their title versus National. The HBHA Seniors would have loved to end it earlier after blanking out their opponent 3-0. G.Vouloumanos scored twice in game one while E.Parent was flawless denying 16 straight shots. However, National wasn't going down that easily. By focusing on a better start, they managed to get two first period goals in a very short span. S.Laplante potted a pair that included the winner, and M.Gallant returned the favour pushing aside 14 of 15 shots to capture the win in net. For the two clubs, nobody was at all surprised that this series would go the extra mile. And whether or not the game would be decided in a shootout or not, somebody would eventually come through and make the difference. Some can argue the captain of the HBHA Seniors would be that variable. J.Kontitsis was responsible for getting his club on board first while netting the winner as part of a three point performance. On behalf of Hockeyballe.com, congratulations go out to John Kontitsis and the HBHA Seniors for getting it done.
