(7)Bramabulls vs The Blast (2)
Blast give up 4 goals in 5 minutes, lose to Bramabulls
The Blast had one brutal stretch in the first period period, and knew they were done having to rely on a short bench. Scoring efforts came-from different players. The pace did calm down-from that point on which didn't bother the Bramabulls. They did increase their lead adding two more markers by the second period. D.Verta and M.Maggiore each scored twice, and G.Follano had great support in front of him earning the win in net.
(4)SBS Trashers vs Toyota Candiac(2) S.O
A.Gentile nifty backhand lifts SBS Trashers in shootout
E.Panzera rolled the dice on Thursday night and came up lucky selecting the right players to take a shootout. First, A.Gentile waited out P.Assadi on a clever backhand move, and then the captain showed why he made the wise choice selecting himself as he also delivered on a brilliant move. Prior to the breakaways, this contest was extremely close. Neither side took the lead after the periods ended. The Toyota Candiac scored once on the power play courtesy of R.Abdulahad while the SBS Trashers missed out on their man advantage. R.Pampena was immense between the pipes allowing only two goals while denying a pair of shootout attempts.
(8)Legends vs Fitforce Phoenix (1)
Legends find their groove in second period
It wasn't up until the second period where the Legends rolled their way to a satisfying victory. After gaining a little confidence, momentum eventually took over and the Legends built enough of a cushion for a comfortable lead. E.Mavroudis got his club on board while completing his hat trick on back to back tallies. To his help, his line mates clicked throughout the entire night as K.Kavan and M.Destounis kept finding each other. All three players combined for eleven points. The Fit force Phoenix had their moments early on but had the displeasure of trying to solve C.Fortin. The goaltender shined in his season debut making numerous saves while denying some decent scoring chances.
(7)Legacy vs Winter Soldiers (8) O.T
K.Kakivelis nets OT winner, Winters Soldiers top Legacy
K.Kakivelis completed his hat trick on the power play of extra time, taking a saucer pass while collecting his own rebound before burying it home. It was a great way to finish off the game. Legacy took some untimely penalties and ultimately paid the price in the end. Granted, they did score twice with a man short which enabled them to level the game fairly late. C.Pisanelli made an instant impact collecting four points. Apart-from K.Kakivelis's dominant performance, J.Mckenzie and D.Landucci were right up there with their captain as both players' bagged two goals each.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Kosta Kakivelis of the Winters Soldiers. The captain knew it wasn't going to be a tough game, but managed to deliver anyway, and in a big way accumulating five points that included the biggest goal of the night.
