Y.Gazura's late marker helps rebound Dragons in second game vs Armadillos

The Dragons looked to be headed for victory when S.Robineault blasted his second late in the game to beat F.Moshonas short side. However, it didn't take long for a response by the Armadillos to force the extra time. D.Andrade made two brilliant plays to rescue the Armadillos in the first encounter. After tying the game very late, Andrade was able to bury one in the shootout that held up for the winner. Clearly the Dragons didn't digest the late collapse and made sure to address a better outing in the ensuing match. The following game proved to be just as close except that it was decided in regulation. Y.Gazura scored late and the Dragons returned the favor to split their miniseries with the Armadillos. S.Robineault continued-from where he left off adding two more tallies for the Dragons while P.Lapointe matched him on a pair of markers for the Armadillos.

Venom's effort falls short as Punishers take both games

Venom used a line up that had enough of what it takes to compete with the Punishers, but unfortunately it just wasn't enough as they dropped two very close games. The Punishers, having all of their regulars made the most of their chances getting balanced scoring. M.Arkalis bagged two in the first encounter and M.Melo was stellar allowing only one goal on 18 shots. Both teams were neck in neck for most of the second game with each side trading two first period goals. It took all but a five minute sequence for the Punishers to raise their level of punishment. Three goals went in during that time which forced Venom to play catch up the rest of the way. And despite being down, they did put up a fight only to fall short by a goal. The win had no heroes or superstars as six different players chipped in with goals. A.Sarigiannis didn't find the back of the net but did set up three teammates while M.Arkalis added three more points to an already productive night.

1 Timer hammer Orient to collect 6 clean points

The 1 Timer took control of both games while leaving the Orient shaken. Granted, the first one was close and ultimately decided towards the end when T.Daigneault snapped a 3-3 tie. In hopes of responding with a better effort, the second game was way worse for the Orient. P-A Surprenant took the steam out of his opponent striking twice in only two and a half minutes into the game. By the time the first period ended, the 1 Timer were well on their way to a second straight victory carrying a 4-1 lead. K.Certosini scored twice with the help of M.Carpentier, who collected three points. The only area that the Orient will look back at and be pleased with was the play of B.Cabral. The skilled forward did more than his share bagging five out of his clubs six goals.

Ice Breakers and Degenerates go the distance in both games

The Ice Breakers resiliency and determination helped them earn extra points versus the Degenerates. Although the first encounter was played more in their control as they never once faltered their lead, the second one was where they elevated it a notch higher to force a second shootout. The Degenerates went up 2-0 and 3-2 only to see it evaporate. M.Boghossian converted twice during the match while setting the tone in the breakaways to beat J.Atch. The winner did belong to B.Freitas only because A.Lanni responded for the Degenerates. Overall, both games were extremely close as they ended up in extra time. Out of their five total goals, A.Lanni had his hand in all of them. The pesky forward had three goals, two assists and both shootout markers for the Degenerates.
