Fatal Demons lean on experience in final stretch of regular season

The Fatal Demons are headed in the right direction with their season winding down. In a game that had important implications to the standings, the Fatal Demons were able to walk away with the victory. J.DeSua responded immediately after K.Fiore got the Fat Roy on board only 31 second into the game. DeSua wasn't done yet as he struck early in the second frame providing a 3-1 lead. Despite a ton of hockey left over, Fat Roy had their hands full going up against an experienced side that know how to protect a lead. This result forces Fat Roy to collect some points in their remaining game. The good news is that they control their own destiny if they can pick up a win.

(3)Horsemen vs Carnage (4)

Carnage use special teams to rout Horsemen

At this stage of the season, it's all the little things that will matter to make the difference between winning and losing. The Horsemen may have looked fine playing even strength hockey but were nowhere close in being effective when up or down a man. Giving up a power play goal or two can be acceptable at times. The problem however was that they let Carnage distance themselves by giving up a shorthanded goal as well. S.Musacchio, who already established himself as a game changer struck with the man short while providing three points. Despite falling behind in deep hole, the Horsemen needed all but three minutes to even the score. That sequence set the stage for a 3-3 third period where Carnage benefited for a second time on the power play courtesy of D.Constantineau.

(10)Buckshots vs Mighty Drunks (6)

Four headed monster Buckshots keep paving the way

There explosive offense has been on an absolute tear throughout the entire season. Prior to this game, the Buckshots have yet to drop points unless you count the tie against the Mighty Drunks earlier in the season. The Mighty Drunks know they can compete with the Buckshots but it would need to take everything to go right. Unfortunately, they couldn't address their defensive game well enough which seems to be a reoccurring problem for any opponent. With at least four players that can hurt you at any given time, teams often find it difficult containing them. K.Kavan, M.Destounis, E.Mavroudis and Y.Derohannessian combined for a ridiculous 20 points with Kavan leading the way in the scoring department with four tallies. The Mighty Drunks did have M.Gibeault take charge posting a hat trick and Y.Dube right behind him with a pair of goals.

(4)United vs Left Wings (3)

United rally to keep season alive after trailing by two in third period

Just as United hopes of keeping their playoff push appeared to be blown away, something special happened in the third period. Down 3-1 while entering potentially their last fifteen minutes of the season, A.Tachejian was a big part of the rescue mission bagging two big goals that included the winner with only two minutes left on the clock. This isn't and likely won't be the last time Tachejian prompts his team for good things to happen. For the time being, United is in a playoff spot but will need some help -from one of two teams in order to get in.

(5)Screaming Eagles vs Wocafloka(4)

A.Ponzo pots late winner to cap wild finish

The Screaming Eagles somehow found a way to win. Granted, they were up 4-2 as the game was winding down but then everything changed in a blink of an eye. You are only asking for trouble when taking three consecutive penalties late in the game. Clearly, the Screaming Eagles had a brain cramp as their 4-2 lead with just over a minute remaining took only seconds for A.Agudelo to score twice on the power play. There was no doubt that Wocafloka put themselves in a position to hit the jugular as they still had time with the man advantage to steal the match. But with hockey sometimes being twisted, the opposite happened. A.Ponzo, already with a first period goal, flipped the emotions-from both clubs as he buried the winner leaving only 14 seconds on the clock.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Anthony Ponzo of the Screaming Eagles. In what looked like was going to haunt the Screaming Eagles for days to come, A.Ponzo stopped the nightmare just in time by riffling a huge game winning shorthanded goal late in the game.
