(2)Screaming Eagles vs Left Wings (6)
V.Ladouceur , D.Provost-Jarry a handful for the Screaming Eagles
V.Ladouceur put on a passing clinic for the Left Wings. The heads up forward created plenty of space out there with D.Provost-Jarry benefiting three times for a hat trick. The game remained close till the last five minutes where the Left Wings put it away on three consecutive goals. Both teams had to deal with a small bench but it didn't affect the Left Wings so much as they managed it properly. S.Vassilopoulos gave up only two markers conceding his first one very late in the second period. By then, the Left Wings were well on their way to a good start to their season.
(5)Buckshots vs Knights (3)
Buckshots use big third period to defeat Knights
For two straight periods, the Knights managed to keep it close. However, once they entered the final stretch, the wheels fell off and the Buckshots surged on three consecutive markers. K.Kavan broke the 2-2 tie, and Y.Derohannessian doubled the lead collecting one of four points during the contest. The Knights did enter the night with a slight disadvantage having only three change ups. That didn't affect the play of J.Lulic and J.DeSua as both players participated in every goal. Still, it isn't the right formula in a game required to play till the very end. The Knights have some quality but lacked quantity in tonight's game.
(6)Fatal Demons vs Wocafloka(5)
Fatal Demons use balanced scoring to top Wocafloca
The Fatal Demons turned a much desired up-tempo game into a victory. It wasn't a pretty win but nevertheless a victory. All six goals came-from different scorers which is usually a good thing not needing to rely on one particular player. They managed to always play with the lead forcing the Wocafloca to battle hard in hopes of keeping it close. The Fatal Demons rode a 6-3 third period lead and expected to close out the game with some ease. But it wasn't the case as A.Desrosiers and O.Cruz scored to pull their team within one. Wocafloca had more than enough time to build off their momentum in search of an equaliser. Unfortunately, they couldn't break R.Ranieri one more time. A.Zarzour and J.Bolanakis shared three points each while M.Destounis's third period marker held up for the winner.
(1)Fat Roy vs United (3)
G.Jerjian hat trick seals a 3-1 win for United
United took full advantage of G.Jerjian's remarkable goal scoring touch on Wednesday night. After giving up the opening goal, G.Jerjian guided his club scoring once in every frame. His key marker came late in the second period giving the United their first lead heading into the final stretch. Even with Fat Roy knocking on the door to try and level the game, G.Follano kept standing in the way. The net minder went on a tear making one important save after another in order to preserve the lead. For an opening game into the season, the United played a smart and disciplined style. They made a strong stand to defend their lead, getting a strong support-from their offense that helped their defence and ultimately their goaltender.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Garo Jerjian of United. In a relatively low scoring affair, G.Jerjian was an absolute force notching all three goals for his club.
