(1)Brewers vs Templars(8)
C.Moutafis starts off with a bang posting 5 goals for Templars
C.Moutafis scored five goals, and although its only week one of the season, that performance sent out a signal that the Templers will be for real throughout the entire season. At no point did they ever take the foot off the gas. The Brewers may not have been happy with a lopsided score but felt it should have been closer if they buried some of their chances. There will be no doubt that the Templars will play an annoying structured defensive game. With C.Muccino guarding the cage along with many steady defensemen, teams will find out sooner than later how difficult it will be to score.
(4)Chiefs vs Devil Dawgz(3)
Chiefs rally for three goals in third period to stun Devil Dawgz
The Chiefs used a dominant third period to overcome a 3-1 deficit and stun the Devil Dawgz on Friday night. Five minutes was all it took for D.Galloro, A.Zarzour and S.Koulieris to get the scoring done. The Devil Dawgz looked headed for a positive outcome in their season debut but were undone by a combination of turn over's and poor decisions. They did work a solid power play with N.Faria scoring twice during the man advantage. Unable to keep a decent pace, the lack of energy was apparent by the third period for the Devil Dawgz. The Chiefs got a pair of goals-from S.Koulieris and three assists by D.Bellitto.
(2)The Family vs Bramabulls(8)
Bramabulls roll through depleted Family
With both teams eyeing each other's benches, many must have thought the same thing. The Bramabulls simply used their army to their advantage. All the Family were able to do was to hang back and hope for opportunities. Unfortunately, they couldn't keep the game close enough after only one period. The Bramabulls surged with four first period goals to immediately discourage their opponent. S.Ruggiero tallied twice before completing his hat trick in the second period, and B.Verducci kept a clean sheet up until the early stages of the final frame. While the Bramabulls won't have many issues showing up with a full size bench, M.Freda knows that he needs to address this one important area if he plans to keep the games closer.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Chris Moutafis of the Templars. The skilled forward was clearly on top of his game notching an impressive five goals in his first game of the season.
