(6)Mighty Drunks vs Horsemen (6) S.O
Mighty Drunks rally in third to force shootout
A strong third period provided a satisfying conclusion for the Mighty Drunks. They came-from behind being down 3-1 heading into the third period. D.Charbonneau , after setting up K.Miraldo on the power play, delivered the equaliser with less than five minutes remaining. The Mighty Drunks felt good about their chances after a strong finish to the period but weren't able to convert one more time in a five minute sudden death frame. Both sides had one more area of the game in hopes of prevailing. Still, neither team had the slight edge as they were stuck settling for a tie. S.Archambault and M.Pinheiro each scored in the shootout for the Mighty Drunks as did T.Karasek and M.Kardum for the Horsemen.
(2)Wocafloka vs Fat Roy(5)
L.Williams scores twice as Fat Roy down Wocafloka
Fat Roy came out strong against Wocafloka on Wednesday night. In the first period alone, L.Williams was able to set the tone with two goals that provided a 2-1 lead. Then, in the span of only two and a half minutes into the second period, Wocafloka fell into a deeper hole giving up two quick tallies. From-there, Fat Roy didn't give much allowing only one power play goal-from F.Belisle. K.Fiore collected a pair of helpers, J.Rochon was credited the winner, and J.Sanoudakis faced 26 shots to earn the win in net.
(7)Screaming Eagles vs United (1)
T.Fernando generous with 5 assists for Screaming Eagles
The Screaming Eagles couldn't have asked for a better game after an impressive offensive showing-from T.Fernando and E.Skafidas. Both players dominated different aspects of their game. T.Fernando used his vision to set up five markers while Skafidas struck three times for a hat trick. The duo combined with four points in the first period alone where the match was already decided with the Screaming Eagles roaring to a 3-0 lead. The only bright moment for the United came late in the second period when G.Jerjian spoiled G-C Sangiovanni's shutout.
(5)Left Wings vs Fatal Demons (6) S.O
Fatal Demons battled back all night to get rewarded in a shootout
Even though they may have been slight leads, the Left Wings aren't too happy letting them go four times. Unfortunately, they couldn't build on it and were stuck having to deal with a response every single time. The Fatal Demons just wouldn't go away and ultimately got rewarded in the end by taking the match in a shootout. J.Bolanakis and M.Chenier each scored during that time while R.Ranieri denied two out of three attempts. D.Tzimopoulos scored two goals in the victory. The Left Wings will need to put this one behind them and hope to avoid a troubling trend in games to come.
(1)Knights vs Buckshots(9)
Buckshots top line dominant in rout of Knights
Each time the Buckshots top line jumped over the boards, the Knights were on red alert. If they aren't played properly, Y.Derohannessian, E.Mavroudis and K.Kavan will make you pay. The trio lit up the Knights combining for a ridiculous 15 points. Even though he didn't score, Y.Derohannessian was the master mind setting up six goals. E.Mavrouidis did have the most tallies striking four times while K.Kavan was right behind him on a hat trick. The Knights were simply overwhelmed on this night unable to defend hard enough.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Dino Tzimopoulos of the Fatal Demons. Apart-from his sound defensive play, D.Tzimopoulos can also contribute on the opposite side of the court by providing two important goals that helped send the game in a shootout.
