(1)Underdogs vs Bulldogs(5)

Second period explosion blows Bulldogs by Underdogs

The game started off to a slower pace with neither team making a hard push to take a lead or preserving it long enough. However, that all changed by the second when the Bulldogs erupted with three straight goals. X.Clement got the ball rolling early in the frame notching back to back tallies right before F.Groulx riffled his first of two in the match. After netting their lone goal in the opening frame, the Underdogs failed to spark any offense the rest of the way. S.Leblanc wasn’t overly busy but did more than enough to record the win in net.

(7)Bramabulls vs Fat Roy(6)

Crazy third period ends with Bulls edging out Fat Roy

What felt like two normal periods resembled nothing for how the third period was played. Fat Roy entered the final stretch up 3-2 before the roller coaster ride occurred. The Bramabulls threw everything they could toward the net and benefited on three consecutive goals. With less than six minutes remaining, both sides played to some more drama combining for five goals that saw Y.Derohannessian cap off an incredible wild finish by netting his second just prior to the horn sounding. Unfortunately for Fat Roy, that’s sometimes how the game goes. It never looks good when a team gives up that many in only one period. Six different players tallied in the loss while J.Mandracchia was once again a big part of the Bramabulls offense posting a hat trick.

(1)Fitforce Phoenix vs Buckshots(8)

Buckshots keep cruising along

From the start and all the way to the finish, the Buckshots were in fine form cruising to an easy win over the Fitforce Phoenix. The defense was solid, S.Morante wasn’t too busy allowing only one goal and the offense was pretty much spread out that had only E.Mavroudis score twice. The Buckshots built a 5-0 lead in the second before giving up their lone tally of the night. Although he didn’t score, N.Kokovidis attributed to the offence by setting up half of his teams goals.

(4)Fatal Demons vs Toyota Candiac(3)

C.Fragkiudakis’s third period goal snaps  late 3-3 tie for Fatal Demons

C.Fragkiudakis found the right time to come through and ultimately decide the game between the Fatal Demons and the Toyota Candiac. Two minutes was all that was left over when Fragkiudakis picked his spot to snap a late 3-3 tie. The Fatal Demons had the luxury to never chase the game despite being responded on two occasions. They could have made life easier if they didn’t give up a shorthanded goal late in the second period. P.Corbin tied the game with the man short heading into the final period but the Fatal Demons were able to recuperate by netting a huge power play marker by G.DeMarinis.

(9)Armadillos vs AREZ(2)

Two shorthanded goals devastate AREZ in lopsided affair

Shorthanded goals are always a bonus in hockey. And on Wednesday night, the Armadillos two shorty’s aptly demonstrated the strength of their penalty kill. When the Armadillos were called for a roughing call, they lead only by one. By the time their penalised player left the box, the game was firmly in the Armadillos hands. The AREZ knew they had a difficult challenge ahead of them prior to the game. And in order to have any sort of chance, many things need to fall into place. Unfortunately, they didn’t give themselves much of a chance after  that short sequence where they gave up two power play goals in only 30 seconds. From there, the Armadillos kept getting stronger and ran up the score to put the game away. P.Legatos was the only player to score twice by opening and closing off the scoring.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Yerik Derohannessian of the Bramabulls. In what was a wild game between his club and Fat Roy, Y.Derohannessian sparked his bench by bagging a buzzer beater as part of a fourth point night.

(3)Knights vs Mighty Drunks(6)

Mighty Drunks pull away on three late goals

Despite playing with a depleted line up, the Knights responded with one of their better efforts so far this season. Throughout most of the night, every player stepped up and were more engaged embracing the challenge rather than avoiding it. Yes, the Knights would have preferred a better result knowing that they had a fifty fifty shot at it with only a few minutes remaining in the game. Unfortunately, time went against them and the Mighty Drunks escaped with the win thanks to S.Laplante’s two quick goals in only twenty seconds. The Knights never gave up showing resilience to overcome a 3-1 deficit with the help of S.Kalaydian’s pair of tallies.

(9)Horsemen vs Bad Habits(2)

V.Pandza and M.Kardum combine for 11 points in Horsemen win over Bad Habits

A great start and a strong finish propelled the Horsemen to a convincing win over the Bad Habits on Thursday night. The Bad Habits were unable to contain the Horsemen’s high scoring duo of V.Pandza and M.Kardum as both players combined for eight points in that period alone. M.Kardum reached his hat trick by the eleven minute mark of the opening frame while V.Pandza scored twice for the 5-0 lead. Starting games when falling behind that early wont help anyone, especially for a team in search of their identity.

(9)Left Wings vs Screaming Eagles(3)

Left Wings jump to early lead , roll to win

S Anthony Longo notched two goals and an assist in the first ten minutes and the Left Wings took charge of the night handing the Screaming Eagles a thumping loss. That was Longo’s two of three goals in the contest. At no point were the Screaming Eagles able to turn it up. The early damage set them too back as they couldn’t really bounce back into the game. Offense also came from J.Argyropoulos, who notched a pair and L.Bavellas that was able to set up six tallies. After dropping their first match by a landslide, the Left Wings have really come together since by collecting their third straight win. However, the same cant be said for the Screaming Eagles, who have yet to hit the win column after three games.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Sonny Anthony Longo of the Left Wings. In the first ten minutes, S.Anthony Longo was all over the court producing two goals and an assist that helped set the tone for the Left Wings win over the Screaming Eagles.
