(5)Bad Habits vs Underdogs(4)

Last minute addition works wonders for Bad Habits

After receiving notice only late on Wednesday afternoon, G.Santacroce was the best thing that happened for the Bad Habits so far this season. Even though it took nearly two periods, the Bad Habits were able to turn it around after finding themselves trailing 4-1 at one point. It was by then that Santacroce made his immediate impact on the game. After assisting N.Delisi late in the second period, G.Santacroce went into beast mode notching two late goals before ending it in style with the overtime winner. The Underdogs were in the same position with the Bad Habits prior to the start of the game. Neither side had yet tasted victory and were in desperate search for something positive to come out of it. Unfortunately for the Underdogs, two solid periods just wasn’t good enough as they’ll have to wait for another opportunity in order to collect their first win of the season.

(8)AREZ vs Screaming Eagles(4)

J.Hassan’s display too much to handle for Screaming Eagles

J.Hassan has produced many times in the past, but what he did in tonight’s case was perhaps one his best or maybe his best game to date. His direct role led his team to a double up win over the Screaming Eagles. After opening the scoring in the first period, J.Hassan went on a tear adding three goals and two assists to finish with an incredible six point performance. The Screaming Eagles had to deal with some concerns early on involving players that haven’t yet played with one another. Eventually, they got some chemistry going but the damage had already been done. All four of their goals came in the second portion of the game with P.Arkalis leading the charge with two tallies.

(1)Left Wings vs Armadillos(5)

Offense emerging from back end for Armadillos

Back end scoring is a rarity for most teams, but that doesn’t apply to the Armadillos. S.Athanasopoulos and G.Bouchard have it in their nature to create opportunities on a constant basis and unfortunately for the Left Wings, they felt the full effect of it. The Armadillos spread out their scoring with five different players that’s saw their back end duo combine for five points. Sometimes its highlight-level worthy and sometimes its smart simple passes. Clearly, a luxury that any team would love to have. On the flip side of the court, the Left Wings have a similar back end core with S.Govas and J.Adamou but the two were missing in action in tonight’s case.

(3)Fitforce Phoenix vs Fatal Demons(2)

Ali Khanafer’s third period goal lifts Fitforce Phoenix to 3-2 win over Fatal Demons

Twice they were down, and twice they evened the score before Ali Khanafer gave the Fitforce Phoenix there first lead for good. It seemed like the Fitforce Phoenix were pushing the pace pretty good throughout the entire game. The Fatal Demons had some chances and enough time to widen the gap by two but couldn’t get that much needed marker. In the end, they couldn’t contain the pace and pressure from their opponent. The positive outcome was a result of a couple of key factors. First being A.Sayed, who participated in all three goals, and M.St-Laurent, who once again kept the game close enough in order for his team to prevail.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Gaetano Santacroce of the Bad Habits. After suiting up for the first time this season, G.Santacroce put the Bad Habits on his back netting two late markers while striking in overtime for his fourth point of the night.

(2)Mighty Drunks vs Bulldogs(11)

Mighty Drunks don’t help themselves in lopsided loss to Bulldogs

There was a whole lot of ugly for the Mighty Drunks in their lopsided loss on Thursday night. They took it as it was, like a good slap in the face and as a reminder for how poorly they can play if they intent to go anywhere this season. There was no question that the Bulldogs came ready to play. The game was already out of reach by the time the first period ended. And if scoring four goals in one single frame wasn’t enough, the Bulldogs did it one better adding five more by the second. This win was gratifying for every single Bulldog player out there. X.Clement ,S.Dion and W.Goyer all scored twice while five other teammates took turns finding the back of the net.

(8)Fat Roy vs Bramabulls(4)

Leaky Bulls need to plug holes in their defensive game

Occasionally allowing an abundance of goals in one regular season game is one thing, but to do it for a couple of games in a row is not what the Bramabulls are all about. No doubt Thursday night was a restless night for the Bramabulls. The defensive gaffs were apparent as early as the drop of the ball. Fat Roy wasted no time exploiting the Bramabulls defensive game and in result buried four markers by the time the first period ended. If anyone spoke in between frames for a better second period, the message landed on deaf ears with  Fat Roy continuing their onslaught. It took a 6-0 lead before Y.Derohannessian finally broke the ice. Despite putting it together from that point on, the game was pretty much put to rest. L.Williams was a thorn all game notching three consecutive goals and an assist.

(5)Knights vs Carnage(10)

Depleted Knights put up a good early fight

You never want to use it as an excuse but the Knights had every reason to having only one change up to their bench. And considering the circumstances, they hung in there for a while. However, it was only a question of time before the tired legs would get in the way. Carnage entered the second period tied 2-2 before pulling away with six second period goals. Many players chipped in offensively that saw G.Valente and M.Pace riffle a pair while B.Sansotta was behind setting up four tallies. For the few players they had, the Knights got most of their production by S.Ruggiero, R.Kilgour, P.Santullo and J.DeSua as the four players combined for ten points.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Lee Williams of Fat Roy. The main architect in tonight’s win for Fat Roy came from the hands of  L.Williams, who keeps proving his ability to score goals is very common for the sniper.
