Assadi Consulting Inc surrender late goal, fall to Horsemen in shootout

The  Assadi Consulting Inc thought they had it wrapped up on a late marker by J.Courteau, but a very late tally by V.Pandza set the stage for yet another shootout round between the two sides. With the earlier contest ending in a draw, this one was eventually decided when S.DosSantos beat P.Assadi in the final attempts of the breakaway competition. The Horseman found a way to bounce back and pull the rug right under the Assadi Consulting Inc’s feet. You always want to be able to shut the door when there are a few seconds left in the game. A late penalty didn’t help the situation and the Horsemen made sure to capitalise on the power play. That was there fourth of five goals with the man advantage, an area of the game that the Consulting Inc continue to struggle in.

M.Destounis keeps on finding the back of the net

With all respect to the Buckshot’s talented team , Wednesday nights 8-4 win over the Brewers was all about one player. M.Destounis, although will argue he is a better passer than a goal scorer, his recent performances will suggest otherwise. The highly skilled forward seems to be finding the net more than usual lately and in a very productive fashion. Tonight was just another day at the office for Destounis as he stole the limelight bagging five goals for the Buckshot’s. Much of his madness began as of the second period where both sides were stuck dead even at two goals apiece. The Brewers did happen to take the first game due to the Buckshots forfeiting the match because of their missing goaltender. Despite their loss in the ensuing game, M.DelGaudio had an equally impressive performance collecting all four goals.

Horsemen eventually run out of gas in gruelling double header night

The Horsemen started as well as a team playing their second mini series in the same night could have hoped for. They went into their third straight shootout dropping the encounter after failing twice on their attempts. S.Marricco was the catalyst behind the victory participating in all three goals while netting the lone shootout marker. There was no doubt that energy level would be a concern for the Horsemen as they prepared to play another difficult encounter with the Fatal Demons. If they could have managed to play in front, things could have turned out differently. Unfortunately for them, it was the captain of the Fatal Demons P.Santullo that struck first and early to set the stage for the remainder of the game. F.Benhamadi would later double the lead, and E.Chidak knew he had the game wrapped up stopping all 17 shots his way.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Costa Stavriadis of the Horsemen. The iron man netminder had a lengthy night. After playing pick up hockey, Stavriadis was just getting warmed up playing back to back games. Three out of the four encounters went to a shootout before he allowed only two goals in the last game where his team just didn’t have the legs to get on board.

Brewers make adjustments after lopsided affair

Making the proper adjustments can be the difference between winning and losing. After the Assadi Consulting Inc handed the Brewers a convincing loss, it was the Brewers turn to even the score. However, the game didn’t have the same storyline. The Brewers played more to their identity, and in doing so, made life extremely difficult for their opponent. They managed an early goal, they never faltered their lead, and used three power play markers to get much of their scoring done. There only slight downfall came late in the game when J.Mandracchia reminded them that he wasn’t done scoring. The skilled forward buried his fourth in a shorthanded situation to force the extra time. But the Brewers did have the final say thanks to E.Bouchard’s lone shootout tally.

Fatal Demons gelling with post season around the corner

The Fatal Demons finished off a productive night having no issues going toe to toe with the Knights. Apart-from a close first period, the rest belonged only to the Fatal Demons. G.DeMarinis riffled a pair of beauties to help secure the win. The second match saw the ball continue rolling the Fatal Demons way. After a strong start riding four first period goals, the Knights wanted nothing more than to see the time run out. A.Zarzour and F.Benhamadi each scored twice in the win while M.Dupuis did the lone scoring for the Knights. These results helped nearly secure an important second spot of the Fatal Demons, who will jump straight to the semi finals if they can grab one single point in their next two games.

Family go toe to toe with division leaders

The standings will say that the Family and the Buckshots are nowhere close to each other. And although stats and numbers are indictors of a teams strength, the Family showed that it doesn’t mean anything when they decide to turn it up. There only downfall came early on where they gave up four straight goals in only seven minutes. Normally , some teams would get demoralised and throw in the towel, but that clearly wasn’t the case for the Family. After finishing off stronger, the Family regrouped and challenged the highly skilled Buckshots in what ended in a stalemate. S.Campisi went on a torrid run bagging a hat trick after collecting two points in the earlier loss. If not for Y.Derohannessian scoring late in the shootout for the Buckshots, the Family would have split their night with the division leaders.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Steven Campisi of the Family. Playing a team like the Buckshots isn’t an easy task, and plenty of factors are required in order to have a chance. The Family were glad to see S.Campisi give them that opportunity on a brilliant four goals and one assist performance.
