Classics adjust after wild finish with RCGT Knights

Just when it looked like the Classics were on there way to an easy win, the RCGT Knights came up with four straight goals to send this game into a shootout. The craziest part of it all occurred all in the last couple of minutes of play. The score was 5-5 and ended 7-7 before the Classics got their act together in the breakaways thanks to J.Bolanakis and M.Mavroudis getting it done. Even though the Classics took the opening game, many felt unpleased for how things transpired. They knew well enough that it should have never reached the finish line after dominating the first portion of the match. After another solid start, the same mistake would not be repeated . The Classics made sure to protect their lead and help out their goaltender P.Assadi, who had to battle a muggy environment . M.Mavroudis caused plenty of fits to E.Parent netting four goals while A.Zarzour, G.DeMarninis,J.Bolanakis M.Destounis proved to be a handful as well accumulating a bunch of points.

Depleted 1 Timer stood no chance vs Punishers

Perhaps it was to be expected that the Punishers would prevail over the 1 Timer on Monday night. After all ,they had their main weapons while the 1 Timer were stuck playing without some key components. Add to the fact that this was an inert league game, the odds certainly favoured the Punishers. Things clicked into gear immediately for the Punishers. A.Dayan led the charge on a hat trick, P.Karvouriaris keeps scoring about two goals a game while A.Sarigiannis was behind setting up five goals. The 1 Timer were hoping to adjust in the second encounter by at least trying to keep it as close as possible. Unfortunately, another bad start led to the same outcome. This time, K.Kuczmarski took control netting back to back tallies before capping it off with a hat trick.

Degenerates solve Hart Foundation in many facets

The Degenerates, despite falling behind early on, felt that they had everybody going as the game went on. In all facets, the players contributed and the timely goals would eventually come in which they occurred in the second period when P.Delli Colli started to look a little more human for the Hart Foundation. The net minder was solid enabling his club to battle till the end. It actually took an empty net goal by M.Barone for the Degenerates to capture a close 4-3 win. Even though the score was close, the Degenerates felt they just needed a better start to dictate the second game so they can get a little more breathing room. That’s exactly what they did soaring out to a 3-1 lead after one period. Then, S.Marricco notched his second and the Hart Foundation felt deflated knowing they had a big hill to climb down by three. A.Desrosiers would eventually cap off the night posting his third goal in two games.

Orient eventually solve G.Barkley after being blanked 1-0

G.Barkley stopped 28 shots, P.Jacques scored a power play goal and the Bad Guys Inc held on to beat the Orient in the opener. The chances were there for the Orient but couldn’t get much going with their attack. It needed to wait until the fourth period of the night when it finally clicked. H.Awada put the Orient in front 2-1 early in that final frame with the help of his captain F.Nasser second assist. Then, and perhaps the most crucial point in the match happened when E.Harnois used a big shorthanded goal to widen the gap. There was no doubt that goal killed the Bad Guys inc after blowing a great opportunity. The Orient would add two empty net markers to exchange wins with a rival opponent.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to M.Mavroudis of the Classics. It wasn’t the most typical fashion to win a hockey game but M.Mavroudis was significant in the wild 9-7 finish. The forward was very productive, netting four goals before capping it off with a shootout marker.
