G.DeMarinis scores twice as Fatal Demons take command in series over Brew Crew

In what was expected to be a close tight checking game, the Fatal Demons were good enough to take this important game for a 1-0 series lead. They did enter the night with a slight edge riding three full complete lines that would eventually over power the Brew Crew. With the help of G.DeMarinis striking first, the Fatal Demons put the pressure right away for the Brew Crew to respond. And to their credit, A.Belanger picked up the dirty work to even the score. Belanger would reply for a second time for the Brew Crew after M.Chenier put the Fatal Demons back in front. The game didn’t stay tied for long and shifted back into the Fatal Demons favor when M.Mavroudis ripped a slap shot after getting a sweet touch pass by M.Destounis. It may have been only a slight 3-2 lead, but the Fatal Demons were in a great position for how well they limited the Brew Crew’s scoring chances. That’s what you get when three full lines are rolling on all cylinders. G.DeMarinis would add some insurance late in the period to solidify a well deserved win, and put all the pressure for the division leaders to respond in game two.

(4)Fatal Demons vs Brew Crew(2) Game 2

The Fatal Demons accomplished what they needed to do on Thursday night versus the Brew Crew. The last period showed what they are all about by being able to lock it down right after M.Destounis broke a late second period tie. Despite the amount of time left over, the Brew Crew didn’t have enough in their arsenal to compete against a fully loaded balanced hockey team. Every time the Fatal Demons rotated their lines, they always appeared to be a slight inch ahead of the Brew Crew. Its difficult to keep up sometimes when a team is fully committed and determined to reach the finish line first. The Brew Crew did apply some pressure but weren’t able to put R.Ranieri under siege long enough. The net minder was sharp  making the necessary saves stopping 16 of 18 shots. G.Amorosa kicked it off in the earlier portion of the game netting two goals while M.Mavroudis fed two teammates before feeding a yawning cage to secure the win. Much of game two did resemble the flow of the previous game. Both sides battled hard and kept it fairly close. The Fatal Demons had the extra push that started to show towards the latter stages of the two games. In order to accomplish such a feat, a few important factors are involved. Starting at the top, Pat Santullo assembled the quantity and the quality in order to have the right mix. The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Rino Ranieri. While every single player contributed equally, you always need your last line of defense to be there and protect the house. R.Ranieri did just that keeping the Brew Crew in check allowing only a total of four goals in two games.
