Kings start season with easy wins over HC Jokerit

The Kings started off their season strong on a pair of convincing wins over the HC Jokerit. An already hot start turned into an inferno by the second game as the Kings used ten goals to out last the HC Jokerit for a second straight time. The two results came as a collective team effort. G.DeLuca notched a pair in the first encounter and A.Pietracupa wasn’t overly busy getting two easy wins between the pipes. With M.Gibson posting two quick tallies by the second game, the Kings fed off it that led to T.Ferreira and D.Lombardi each posting hat tricks. Overall, the Kings used the right mind set heading into their season opener. They came out aggressively on both sides of the ball that kept them in control for most of the two games.  The HC Jokerit did get some offense going in their second encounter, and in largely due to A.Alfonso making plenty happen riding a hat trick and an assist. The problem was their inability to limit the amount of chances they gave up.

Classics a step ahead in double rout of Snipers

The Snipers quickly learned that you cant give up many opportunities against a team like the Classics. Players like P.Karvouriaris will make you pay as it happened in the first game with the sharp shooter putting three behind the Snipers net minder. It wasn’t the start they wanted but at least they had the chance to get it right in the following match. Unfortunately, nothing changed and the Snipers went through another horrible start finding themselves down 5-1 by the time the first period ended. This time, it was M.Mavroudis’s turn to shine as the power forward completed an early hat trick to put the game out of reach. The Snipers just weren’t able to match the Classics in the scoring department, but could have done better on their defensive side of the game. F.Nasser and A.Sayed know that they can get better-from their players and especially for themselves as they have seen better nights. Sometimes things just don’t go right -from the get go like in tonight’s case for the Snipers, who wont be overly concerned with the group of guys they have.

Hard charging Country Club a handful for the RCGT Knights to handle

The RCGT Knights looked to rebound after dropping a fairly close game versus the Country Club. It was reasonable to think that a bounce back performance was to be expected after the two sides battled to a close 3-1 result favoring the Country Club. Instead, it just got worse with the Country Club out pacing the RCGT Knights with nine goals. In the short span of only two minutes, the Country Club spark three quick goals in the first period while doing the same by the second frame striking three times again in under three minutes. The RCGT Knights looked mediocre at times and couldn’t push back hard enough to compete against a better prepared opposition. C.Paquette showed that he will be putting up some nice numbers as the sniper struck five times. The same can be said for F.Proulx, who bagged a hat trick in the second game, and their net minder M.Dupuis giving up only three goals in four periods.

R.Fortin feeling hot riding 2 hat tricks for the Assadi Consulting Inc

It looked as though the Big Timer were going to be smoked twice in their encounters with the Assadi Consulting Inc. After all, the first game did end 7-0 and the start of the second match saw the Assadi Consulting Inc storming out of the gate riding four goals for a 4-1 lead after one period. However, the final frame didn’t go as the pattern suggested. The Big Timer adjusted, started to compete harder and actually made a game out of it pulling themselves within one. There was no doubt it caused panic for the Assadi Consulting Inc forcing them to take the situation serious if they planned on banking two wins. Eventually, the nerves calmed a little when P.Kawkab and M-A.Haber scored later on to restore a very comfortable lead with only two minutes left on the clock. The Assadi consulting Inc have a nice arsenal of talent throughout their line up that saw R.Fortin dominate the court with two hat tricks.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Robbie Fortin of the Assadi Consulting Inc. Not bad for his season debut. R.Fortin showed that he can find the back of the net riffling back to back hat tricks.
