M.Estrela chips in with a pair of key goals to help lead Team Purple past Team Orange

 (4)Team Purple vs Team Orange(3)

An apparent blow out turned into a tense thriller Monday evening. Team Purple made Team Orange pay for their lack of urgency for a good 30 minutes before Team Orange finally put their game in order riding the next three goals only to fall short in the end. S.Sicuso got the ball rolling providing Team Purple their first two tallies of the game which was shortly matched by his teammate M.Estrela, who also bagged two key markers. By that point, it appeared that this contest was very one sided with still no response by Team Orange. However, that all eventually changed when M.Gagnon got them on board. N.Faria would then narrow the gap by two, and W.Mendoza struck perhaps a little too late to put his club only one shot away-from evening the score. Both teams will look back and be guilty of some sloppy plays that favored one side over the other. In this particular case, Team Purple benefited due to their strong start which forced Team Orange to chase the game and battle that much harder.

The SalumiVino player of the game goes to Monika Estrela of Team Purple. In the first game of the season in the Draft League, M.Estrela made an immediate impression for her teammates by bagging two big goals that included the winner.

Team Red overwhelm Team Blue in blow out win

 (6)Team Blue vs Team Red(17)

Team Red took advantage of a team that didn't quite have the chemistry on how to play with one another. The final score suggests that the defense and the forwards were out of sync when trying to play without the ball. Unable to stop the bleeding, Team Blue were stuck enduring a difficult situation. No doubt it was a good night for all of Team Red's players who participated one way or another. Scoring 17 goals in 48 minutes is quite a feat for the winning side, but a bad dream for the opposition. At one point, you just want nothing more than to call it a night since nothing is working. C.Arnoldo, although in a losing cause, will be a vital component as the forward picked up-from where he left off last season by posting a hat trick. While Team Red seems ready to compete for a successful season, the same cant be said right now for Team Blue. The  answers have to involve some changes in their line up or a structured game plan. The good news is that its only the first game of the regular season which gives them plenty of time to turn things around.

The SalumiVino player of the game goes to Tony Scarpelli of Team Red. Not bad for his season debut. T.Scarpelli loves playing right in front of the net where he was able to capitalize five times as part of a nine point performance.

Team Black making it look to easy right away

 (14)Team Black vs Team Yellow(3)

The attack came fast and furious as Team Black hemmed Team Yellow throughout the entire match. The momentum never slowed down as the goals kept piling up with plenty of contributions-from all players. Leading the charge was P.Petraccione collecting seven points, but many others put up some nice numbers as well. J.DeMarco, T.Mclean, R.Santosuosso, R.DeMarco, Marie-Eve along with the one and only B.Panarello combined for 25 points. At no point did Team Black let go of the gas pedal despite the price of fuel being so high. Scoring goals is to fun and Team Black had no issues finding the back of the net. As much as this comes as a disappointing loss, Team Yellow were stuck playing without a few key players that would have changed the make up of their roster and potentially a more favorable outcome. Sometimes you just need to get your feet wet while making some little adjustments here and there to turn things around. Team Yellow will definitely challenge harder when they floor a deeper roster.

The SalumiVino player of the game goes to Pat Petraccione of Team Black. A great leader wasted no time taking charge and setting the example for his club. P.Petraccione bagged a hat trick while setting up four markers to lead all players with seven points.

D.Tzimopoulos hat trick powers Team White in 7-3 win over Team Green

 (3)Team Green vs Team White(7)

Three goals by D.Tzimopoulos and a pair by Joe DeStefano helped Team White pull away-from Team Green. Tzimopoulos showed his scoring touch playing-from a position that he isn't to familiar with .  His entire ball hockey career stemmed-from playing as a defenseman, but tonight he tried something different playing as a forward which paid dividends. While the established veteran did plenty to help out his club, the rest of his teammates bought into a working formula as well. Team White showed instant chemistry dominating all three areas of their game. B. Mourad was sound allowing only three goals, the defense was stable and alert while the offense had plenty of looks resulting in seven goals. P.Santullo may have some work to do despite it being only the first game of the regular season for Team Green. For now, he will need to remain patient and allow his club to get a little more familiar with each other.

The SalumiVino player of the game goes to Dino Tzimopoulos of Team White. Hockey instincts kicked in right away-from a well seasoned veteran, who led the charge posting a hat trick.
