Big second period lifs Dirty Scrubs to win over Sonic

Perhaps, its no coincidence that when the intensity ramped up on Friday night, so too did the Dirty Scrubs play. The game was tied 1-1 before the Dirty Scrubs started to perk up and finish off a strong second frame on two late goals. A.Jalilvand looked to fit right in with his new line mates as the slick forward was a menace collecting his third point and second goal on the power play. With that late surge, the momentum continued throughout most of the third period with A.Zarzour scoring almost immediately followed with A.Jalivand’s eventual hat trick. All in all, the Dirty Scrubs compete level was up to par as they did a fine job limiting Sonic’s chances to get back into the game. Each side scored on their lone power play opportunity with A.Kalaydian credited the goal for Sonic. R.Ranieri was solid again facing close to 30 shots to earn the win in net.

Generals keep saving their best for last

The theme of it being close while it lasted is starting to be over used in this division when going up against the Generals. Every opponent till now has kept the games fairly close for at least half the game, but are no where to be seen by the time they enter the third period. The United Masters actually seemed like the better of the two sides in the opening frame due to their ball possession and solid defensive game. They came out of the frame 2-2, and things were appearing to be going just fine. Then, the mid way point hit, and the Generals once again put it into gear. F.Wilscam fired a pair of rockets collecting back to back goals right after O.Valiquette bagged a pair as well in the same period. That sequence put the Generals up 6-3 heading into the final stretch where they made sure to leave the Untied Masters in the dust by adding four more tallies. It goes without saying that you need everything to go right in order to stop a well oiled machine. The United Masters saw many of their play attempts keep getting cut off because of the Generals reading the play. Many passes kept getting intercepted, and in consequence, a counter attack would lead to a high end chances. J-R Turgeon and O.Valiquette each hat tricks while G.Djevahirdjian and D.Galloro did all of the scoring for the United Masters posting two goals a piece.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Austin Jalilvand of the Dirty Scrubs. In his first game this season, the forward was a huge asset collecting four points that included a hat trick.
