Sonic surrender 2 shorthanded goals in eventual lopsided loss to Generals

For nearly two full periods, Sonic couldn’t have asked for a better situation going up against a heavy favourite Generals side. Even though they trailed 2-1, your always content being only a shot on net away -from tying the game along with a pair power play chances to help even the score. Sonic had a golden chance to perhaps level the game and possibly remain tied heading into the third period. That situation would have kept the pulse of the team going harder knowing that they had one single frame to keep pace with the leagues giants. Instead, one short handed goal led to another, and Sonic knew their night was over despite a whole period remaining. The Generals will hurt you in any situation if your not fully prepared. M.Larin and D.Lafleur scored the two big goals with the man less which positioned their side for an easier path to victory. The third period was all Generals with O.Valiquette once again scoring a hat trick. The score may suggest a complete thumping, but Sonic did make things extremely hard for about two full periods which forced the Generals to work hard for their win.

Dirty Scrubs storm back to erase 3-0 deficit but fall short in loss to United Masters

The Dirty Scrubs showed some strong fight in erasing a three goal deficit on Friday night. Unfortunately they were unable to comeback a second time as three quick goals by the United Masters secured them an important game one to the series. While everyone was forced to pull their weight, A.Minassian and N.Malkhassian were the engines that fuelled the offense . The two players were definitely primed for the challenge making a bunch of nice plays that resulted in two goals apiece. It looked as though the United Masters had the control they wanted after building a 3-0 lead by the early stages of the second period. By then, they looked in command dictating the pace while limiting their mistakes. Sometimes, when a team is under the gun, they just try to focus on taking it one shift at a time. The Dirty Scrubs wanted to get on board to try and spark something. Eventually, that goal finally came when T.Langiano squeezed one by C.Stavriadis. Since momentum can be a funny thing at times, the Dirty Scrubs were now the ones in control of the game as they scored two more to even  things up early in the third period. Its never pleasant giving up three straight tallies to put your opponent back into the game. However, the United Masters were confident in their capabilities to regain the lead. Once N.Malkassian broke the tie, the United Masters avoided repeating the same mistakes, and made sure to ride out the third period by winning the frame. This came as an important game one victory in a series that involves two very evenly matched teams.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Anto Minassian of the United Masters. By applying three solid lines, A.Minassian was the one who caused the most fits for the Dirty Scrubs defence and net minder. The skilled forward had a very productive four point performance clicking nicely all night with his two line mates.
