Wells balanced Ducks backed by G.Kanaras goaltending prevail over the Senators

In a closely scrutinized measuring stick game, in which the Senators came in with a nice 3-0 record, credit the Ducks for showing up with a strong performance. G.Kanaras weathered some early chances in net, and the Ducks slowly built their lead as the game went on. It was all about creating the gaps and lanes that enabled the forwards to bury their chances. Goals came by many players as the lines were perfectly balanced while supported by the defense. The Ducks capitalized twice on penalty shots while G.Kanaras denied the one attempt he faced. At one point late in the game, the Ducks carried an 8-1 lead before F.Decoster made his wicked shot count by bagging a pair. Most of the Senators players didn’t quite get that time and space they hoped for because of how committed the Ducks were to playing well without the ball. Overall, just a solid game for a side that will seemingly gel in a young season so far.

The Allo Mon Coco Ste-Dorothee player of the game goes to George Kanaras of the Ducks. Throughout the entire match, the goaltender was focused as he kept making enough saves to keep his side playing in front.

M.Rodriguez falls short after exceptional goaltending for the Oilers

M.Rodriguez stopped a ton of shots for the Oilers. He met the challenge in regulation time, but an unfortunate bounce got the better of him in the extra time. Looking back, the Oilers did a lot of good things. They started strong springing out to a 3-1 lead ,and broke a 3-3 tie thanks to S.Todd after surrendering a pair of goals. All that was left  was to kill off a minute. Unfortunately, they couldn’t run out the clock in time. M.Braun had already cashed in twice before adding his third to tie the game and force overtime. You never know what can happen when two teams kept it close all game long leaving all but a shot on net to decide matters. In tonight’s case, the Stars were the ones that were opportunistic thanks to N.Macri. As much as it was disappointing for the Oilers, they know well enough that it could have gone there way. The important thing is that they keep challenging their opponents like they have been doing lately. Surely a little bit of luck helps, but this won’t be an issue since its happening very early in the season. J.Salvo was a spark registering three out of the Oilers four goals while the rest of his side did a fine job as a supporting cast.

The Allo Mon Coco Ste-Dorothee player of the game goes to Mike Braun of the Stars. Its safe to say that the forward had a major influence in the result. The sniper carried the load bagging another hat trick that included a late tally to force overtime.
