Oilers on wrong side of high scoring affair

Its safe to say that the Oilers would have liked a do-over after the first seven minutes of this game. Things weren’t going so well early with the Golden Knights amassing a big 5-0 lead with both sides barely pulling a sweat. Although the Oilers finally started to find their groove by getting on board, they just couldn’t catch up as the two teams kept trading goals. M.Rodriguez and M.Mascitto felt like an abandon ship with no one in sight to help rescue the net minders. There is only so much you can do when the coverage is poor and the defensive commitment is lacking. One area that did work wonders was the offense. The Golden Knights had fun putting up some nice number with T.Settino and S.Sicuso sharing seven points each. M.Salerno and T.Nardelli were next in line with five points apiece, and M.Estrela set up some nice plays on three helpers. As for the Oilers, K.Oliveira led the charge up front bagging a hat trick and a pair of helpers while C.Oliverio and J.Salvo combined for six points.

The Allo Mon Coco Ste-Dorothee player of the game goes to Tony Settino of the Golden Knights. While it was a night that everyone had an input in the scoring department, T.Settino came to no ones surprise that he would dictate the offense by providing three goals and four assists.

What better start can you ask for if you’re the Hurricanes. In the first five minutes alone, Ari.Daghlian and A.Farina each scored on a penalty shot, and B.Verducci appeared to have things under control as the net minder usually does. It was almost like the Senators forgot to set their alarm. Once the ring tone went off, the sleeping giants woke up and went straight to work. As soon as G.Lamothe got his side on board, the Senators couldn’t be stopped scoring a total of nine unanswered goals. So dominant, it looked like they had more guys out there pouncing on every loose ball. Goals came at a rapid rate with P.Carone showing his capabilities of a natural goal scorer. The sniper was dead on target hitting the bulls eye five times that included a penalty shot goal. Out of the nine tallies scored for the Senators, only three players had the luxury of finding the back of the net. G.Lamothe and M.Lauzon each scored twice while R.Kilgour was feeling generous  setting up four tallies. The Hurricanes did had their fair share of shots on net but couldn’t seem to figure out S.Sauk anymore as the net minder went flawless after surrendering two penalty shot goals.

The Allo Mon Coco Ste-Dorothee player of the game goes to Paolo Carone of the Senators. The Hurricanes had no solutions on how to contain P.Carone, who was a wrecking crew converting five times.
