Monday January 26( C & D)
(5)Steakfrites vs Raging Rhinos(8) D
It came a little too late for Steakfrites as they nearly mounted a comeback to shock the Raging Rhinos. This contest seemed to be an easy wrap for the Raging Rhinos who built a comfortable 6-2 third period lead before sealing it in an empty cage with back to back tallies from P.Elizardo. Those two markers saw the speedy forward net a hat trick with goals all coming by the final frame. A.Papazian along with B.Kornaros each tallied twice for the win while C.Debonis did the same for Steakfrites.
(1)X-Treme vs Armadillos(9) D
If X-Treme want to use the Armadillos as a measuring stick, theyre going to need a long roll of tape. The veteran squad wasted no time whatsoever posting four first period tallies by getting plenty of help from an established forward who buried two out of the four goals. B.Daniele carried out his progress in the second period striking two more times before completing his night with six points. If there was one bright moment for X-Treme, it was by the ten minute mark of the second period where M.Schafhauser was able to beat C.Giannakis.
(0)Ultimate Blast vs Bramabulls(6) C
Depending on an overall team balanced game, the Bramabulls get efforts from six different players along with their net minder in a 6-0 shutout win over the Ultimate Blast. This contest took one direction by the early stages of the second period where F.Giannini and M.Marrone tallied only one minute apart for a 3-0 lead. With still plenty of time left over, the Bramabulls continued to do everything right from defending well, adding three third period insurance markers, and by getting a flawless performance from their net minder J.Beaudry.
(8)Venom vs Left Wings(1) D
Once he gets rolling there isn’t much an opposition can do to contain him. M.Latreille has done this many times before and tonight was just another day at the office for the right handed sniper who struck four times while adding two helpers for Venom. The Left Wings did hang in there and put up a good battle in the first half of the game before running out of juice. Y.Gazura faired well with five points, and his goaltender and captain M.Trivisonno was solid all night giving up only one tally from T.Zermalias.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Jonathan Beaudry. Its not often easy to record a shutout in the C division but tonight the Bramabull net minder lived up to the task after denying 25 shots in his direction.
