(0)Capitals vs Crooners(5)
A perfect record came to an end on Monday night as the Crooners hand the Capitals their first loss of the season. For two periods this match looked like it could have gone either way but that changed in the third where the Crooners surged with four unanswered goals. Already with a power play marker, C.Jutras extended the lead early in the third setting the pave for three other teammates to strike. Its never easy blanking the Capitals but B.Girard did the improbable by stopping all 27 shots his way.
(5)Ultimate Blast vs Crooners(6) O.T
No rest had no effect for the Crooners has they strung two wins in only two hours. Amazingly enough, the momentum only took over by the four minute mark of the third where they riffled their first of six goals. F.Jutras opened the scoring on the power play before D.Martel took over the match bagging three goals that included the sudden death winner. S.Ogilvie used his vision setting up three markers helping the Crooners finish strong just before the playoffs start.
(3)Capitals vs Bramabulls(0)
Unhappy with the way things went only an hour ago, the Capitals did have something to cheer about before the night ended. After netting two second period goals, the Capitals played it perfect and got the goaltending they expected from J-F Aumais who pushed all 24 shots his way. The winner came on the power play thanks to an effort from A.Boucher.
(5)Ultimate Blast vs Raging Rhinos(2)
After suffering a tough loss only an hour ago, the Ultimate Blast took care of business versus the Raging Rhinos. A.Bien-Aime started things off strong netting the games first goal and continued his dominant play by feeding M.Merone and Reginald.Morne to finish with three points. The Raging Rhinos didn’t go down easy and managed to reduce the gap by one on two occasions but weren’t able to get that much needed equaliser.
The C and D division regular season came to an end on Monday night. With only one loss to their record, the Capitals look to get the better of the Ultimate Blast while the Crooners and the Bramabulls will have their hands full as they face each other.
As for the D division, the Steakfrites will have to play Venom in a one game battle to see who’ll go up against the division leaders Armadillos. The other match up will feature the Left Wings versus the Raging Rhinos as both clubs are automatically in the semi finals for finishing second and third in the standings.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Benoit Girard of the Crooners. In back to back games, the net minder earned two wins that included a shutout victory versus the Capitals who suffered their only loss of the season.
