(6)Brewers vs Dragons(1)
If the Dragons couldn’t get it right in their two recent meetings versus the Brewers, tonight wasn’t any different. After netting two late first period goals, the Brewers did all the small things right and were never in any danger for the duration of the match. Veteran C.Charles used his long reach to bury two passed F.Vigliotti as the only multi goal scorer of the night while D.Verta used his vision feeding three different teammates.
(6)Mighty Drunks vs United Arms(3)
In all three frames, the Mighty Drunks won the tight battles as they double up the United Arms 6-3 to advance to the next round. The damage happened when E.Antonopoulos scored his second of the night followed immediately with a tally from P.Arkalis that put the Mighty Drunks up 5-3.Despite some late power play minutes, the United Arms weren’t able to get their five man unit going as the Drunks held on for the win.
(5)Golden Kids vs Vintage Ottarks(1)
Barely 30 seconds into the contest, J-P Cyr set the tone for his short bench. The Vintage Ottarks had to get the first goal of the night and use their man power to frustrate the Golden Kids, instead things shifted in the opposite direction. Cyr added his second of the night for a 2-0 lead before D.Duhamel went on a scoring rampage posting threes straight goals. As much as the result was already in, D.Laurie would have loved to keep a clean sheet but couldn’t earn the shutout as F.Luongo beat him late in the game.

After a solid performance versus the United Arms, the Mighty Drunks will face the ultimate challenge of squaring off versus Blades in a best of three series. The other semi final match up will feature the Brewers who will look to try and suffocate the talent of the Golden Kids.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Jean-Philippe Cyr of the Golden Kids. Playing with a short bench, J-P Cyr scored the games first two goals which enabled the Golden Kids to dictate the match the way they wanted.
