Thursday April 23(Semi finals)
(3)Stealth Assassins vs Chiefs(5) E1 Game 2
A.Moscato, P.Santullo and P.Roy scored third period goals, and S.Pare made close to 30 saves in his second straight win versus the Stealth Assassins. Needing a tie or a positive result, the Chiefs found themselves behind after two periods but were able to bounce back at a very important time in the series. This win advances the Chiefs in the finals for a second straight session where they’ll hope to have a better fate.
(5)Fat Roy vs Renceur(6) E1 Game 2
In the span of only three minutes, this series turned on a dime. Fat Roy will be feeling the pain for a while as a third period collapse sends their rival through to the finals. Renceur collected three straight goals as of the ten minute mark of the final frame that included M.Latreille’s winner with just over a minute remaining. N.Gilbert notched a pair of markers and A.Mancini was happy to get the job done in nets after facing over 30 shots.
It will come down to a battle of youth versus experience. Renceur have the talent and the speed which can only force the Chiefs to play a cautious defensive game in order to have a chance.
E2 Semi finals
(9)Dirty Boys vs French Connection(6) Game 1
It took only the first period for the Dirty Boys to grab control of the series. M.Mavroudis bagged an early hat trick only eleven minutes in, and the Dirty Boys felt comfortable entering the second period with a 5-1 lead. Adding to the scoring, A.Jalilvand and M.Destounis chipped in netting a pair each for the win while O.Valiquette did what he normally does for the French Connection riffling a hat trick.
(1)Snookers vs Street Ballers(3) Game 2
The Street Ballers, not to long ago came off an average regular season but are now enjoying a magical run as they hand the heavy favourite Snookers a rare loss. After a tight scoring game, the Street Ballers came through in the end where they posted two goals as of the eleven minute mark of the third period. Both those tallies came off the blade of Y.Lamarche only a minute apart. The Snookers had their chances but ran into a wall as S.Sauk was nearly flawless between the pipes.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Yannick Lamarche of the Street Ballers. Lamarche was as clutch as it gets as his two late goals puts the Street Ballers one win away from entering the finals.
