(6)Blades vs Mighty Drunks(0) Game 1
P.Beliveau and A.Mirolla each scored twice as Blades showed no signs of rust after waiting a couple of weeks to start their post season. The top seed were better in every frame scoring at least twice and got the goaltending they expected from G.Follano who pushed away all 26 shots. Apart from his two goals, A.Mirolla helped set up Beliveau on two occasions while his captain I.Lesic and E.Girouard also assisted twice each.
(3)Mighty Drunks vs Blades(1) Game 2
After nearly five straight periods without a goal, the Mighty Drunks finally got to G.Follano. A.Sarrigiannis snapped the dreaded barrier to even the score at one goal a piece heading into the final frame. The Mighty Drunks had their season on the line at this point and fuelled off desperation to capture two huge third period tallies from M.Arkalis and M.Hionis to even the series at one game a piece. Each side showed plenty of passion and intensity giving the refs and scorekeeper plenty of penalties to control during the contest.
(0)Blades vs Mighty Drunks(1) Game 3
The Mighty Drunks struck first, and ultimately last, to upset Blades in the semi finals. With only 15 minutes at their disposal, the Mighty Drunks did just enough by getting a big power play goal by S.Bentivegna while exceptional goaltending from K.Dubard. That tally occurred at the nine minute mark of the game after Blades took an unfortunate high sticking call leading to the goal. It may appear as an upset, but the Mighty Drunks showed and proved what they are capable of when it counts the most.

(1)Brewers vsGolden Kids(3) Game 1
For over two periods, the Brewers put themselves in the right place grabbing a 1-0 third period lead before slowly letting the game slip away. R.Mancini took advantage of a power play opportunity for a1-0 lead which normally is plenty for Brewers hockey with less than a period remaining. Once D.Duhamel replied, the Golden Kids fed off that tally and struck for a second time in less than three minutes when P.Deschamps put his club up for the first time in the game. The Brewers attempted to even the score after pulling out C.Muccino form their net, but that didn’t work as Duhamel nodded his second to seal the match.
(3)Golden Kids vs Brewers(4) Game 2
The Brewers fought hard to keep their season alive by out lasting the Golden Kids in a penalty filled affair. Each side had to adjust playing either short handed or on the power play which ultimately went the Brewers way despite giving up a short handed marker. Down for most of the third period, S.Laporte’s second tally of the night looked to have been more than enough for a series sweep until D.Verta changed all that. Verta responded late in the match, and saved the Brewers season by putting his team up 4-3 with less than 30 seconds in the game.
(1)Brewers vs Golden Kids(0) Game 3
How many times can one player be the hero as D.Verta does the improbable for a second straight game. Needing only one goal, the Brewers got it from their crafty forward as Verta scores his clubs lone tally to advance the Brewers to the finals. The Brewers struck very early and put the game in shut down mode as every player along with C.Muccino made sure to give no space whatsoever. In a series that could have gone either way, both sides showed how deserving they were but it will be the Brewers advancing as they try and attempt to get it done after dropping last season’s final versus the Bramabulls.

The Brewers will carry the long memory of losing a game three overtime final from last season as they’ll take on a very determined and hungry bunch in the Mighty Drunks.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Danny Verta of the Brewers. If not for his game two late tying goal, along with game threes lone series winning goal, the Brewers may not have gotten the chance to enter the big dance in next weeks final versus the Mighty Drunks.
