Thursday April 30(E1 Finals)
(6)Chiefs vs Renceur(4) Game 1
With no choice for everyone to show up with a big game, the Chiefs got determined efforts from all their players to take a difficult match versus Renceur. N.Morrone was a monster producing the Chiefs last three goals, and A.Jalilvand keeps on showing consistency as the crafty forward scored twice while adding an assist. Renceur didn’t have a couple of key pieces and will look for them to return to the line up if they hope to bounce back into the series.
E2 Semi finals
(3)Street Ballers vs Snookers(5) Game 2
They didn’t get this far to get swept, as the Snookers bounce back to even the series. It did however take a desperate third period where two power play goals were needed to keep the season alive. G.Pavlopoulos and G.Dantiste took advantage of the five man unit with goals less than two minutes apart, and M.Gagnon made sure to seal the contest after netting a very late tally.
(0)Snookers vs Street Ballers(2) Game 3
While everything was going great in the post season, and after dropping a big game only moments before, the Street Ballers believed in themselves to get it done by knocking out the top seed. After netting an early goal from S.Archambault, the Street Ballers defence along with S.Sauk’s goaltending did the rest by protecting the lead until buzzer. Y.Dube was behind making both goals happen that included a feed on his captain J.Furtado’s empty net marker.
(4)French Connection vs Dirty Boys(7) Game 2
At the very least, a great start was necessary, but even at that the French Connection weren’t able to hold on. Playing with only three changes, the French Connection realised that even a 4-1 lead wasn’t secure. The Dirty Boys started that concern when M.Destounis scored very late in the second period reducing the margin by only one goal. That was just the beginning of what was a one sided affair as the Dirty Boys kept on toppling their opponents with 15 minutes remaining. Destounis quietly made plenty happen scoring twice and setting up two goals as a significant reason why his team are playing in next weeks final. Just for good measure, J.P Meunier riffled two rockets passed F.Gaudet-Peloquin to make sure the series ended in two games.
J.Korakakis did a fine job assembling a last second hockey team who now find themselves playing for the championship versus the Street Ballers. J.Furtado will make sure to keep motivating his troops as the Street Ballers look to upset a fourth opponent in their biggest round to come.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Nick Morrone of the Chiefs. Morrone battled extremely hard riffling three out of the Chiefs six goals in an important 6-4 win over Renceur.
