A thirst for first, Black Knights topple rival Red Lite for top seed

With the help of two awarded team goals, the Black Knights still had more than their hands full on Monday night. Red Lite used three power play goals along with a shorthanded tally by N.Vargas-Dias to get all of their scoring done. Each side traded two goals each in both the second and third periods making the opening frame as the only difference in the match. J.Gagne continues to pile on points as the Black Knights forward collected three more to lead the scoring race with ten goals and five assists. Red Lite added G.Tetreault to their lineup, who made an immediate impact notching a pair of markers. With only one loss so far, the Black Knights look to be in fine form and will hope to continue their run after the holiday break.

No contest, All Blacks trounce Slayers by a landslide

As bad as the score appears to be, this contest only went solo as of the third period where the All Blacks kept piling on the goals. The Slayers kept the game close for two periods trailing by only a pair until things turned for the worse. Already with two goals under his belt, M.Duguay didn’t stop there by adding two more by the third to finish with an impressive seven point game. P.Bibeau was able to accumulate four helpers and F.Rolland stopped all but one goal courtesy of A.Mirolla. The All Blacks didn’t have a deep bench but still managed to get plenty of offence done. As for the Slayers, the struggles continue despite winning their only game in last week’s contest versus the Hustlers.

(4)Bramabulls vs Spartans(5) O.T

A.Courcelles strike three times including overtime winner

It was A.Courcelles’s two first period goals only a minute and a half apart along with the sudden death winner that helped the Spartans hand the Bramabulls a second straight loss to the season. Courcelles put on a Spartans jersey for the first time this season and wasted no time earning the respect from his teammates. The Spartans had the better start to the night building a 3-1 first period lead along with a two goal cushion heading into the final frame until the Bramabulls forced the issue with unanswered tallies. M.Argiris scored first for the Bramabulls before setting up Marco Diaco and D.Morency by the third. The Spartans collected only their third win of the season but are glad to do it against a rival first place opponent.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Anthony Courcelles of the Spartans. His three goals along with an assist was a big reason why the Spartans downed the Bramabulls 5-4 in overtime on Monday night.
