Bijoux pound HC Inter with double up win

S.Larouche-Champagne had a hat trick Sunday afternoon to lead Bijoux to third straight win in as many games. The forward notched goals in every frame while setting up two teammates to finish with five points. Bijoux got plenty of points as well from S.Vitale, who scored once while assisting on five occasions. HC Inter kept it close for most of the match until the mid way point of the third period where Bijoux pulled away with three straight markers. Its only three games in, and both teams already find themselves in complete opposite directions.

Two shorthanded goals help Shockers beat Butchers 4-2

C.Debonis and J.Hurley each scored a shorthanded goal, and the Shockers were able to escape with a 4-2 win over the Butchers. The Shockers did most of their work by the second period producing both goals in a disadvantage while being able to add a late period marker for a 3-1 lead. M-A Beauchamp widened the margin early in the final frame giving barely any hope of a comeback. The Butchers attempted 26 shots on C.Tremblay, who stopped 24 of 26 orange balls to earn the win in nets. C.Debonis was definitely clutch by posting two key goals in the span of less than five minutes. The Butchers will look back at giving up two shorthanded goals in the short span of 75 seconds as the difference in the contest.

Newly added M.Latreille collects points on every goal for Hulkamania

The new addition didn’t waste much time getting to work. M.Latreille scored his clubs first two goals before setting up M.Gagnon twice. Despite the lopsided score, the Fatal Demons hung in there for most of the match trailing by only one goal until the last five minutes of the contest where three straight markers went in to seal the deal for Hulkamania. On 25 shots, the Fatal Demons managed only one goal courtesy of M.Chenier. H.Trahan kept his club in it all game to give Hulkamania their first win of the season. Prior to the match, Hulkamania gave up an unacceptable 19 goals against in only two games before tightening up for this contest.

Romans use two shootout markers to secure win

Both goaltenders had their hands full on Sunday night as each side went the ultimate distance to decide a winner. A.Greico of the Romans and P.Turturici of the Icons did more than their part to help give their team a real chance to win the game. With the kind of fire power both sides have, only one goal went in which came on the power play. A.Mirolla got the game’s opening goal for the Romans by the two minute mark of the second period, a lead that went unchallenged until the six minute mark of the final frame where M.Arkalis finally got the Icons on the board. With overtime time solving nothing, the Romans won the breakaway competition with goals from A.Mirolla and S.Mirolla. The Icons got their lone shootout tally from their captain P.Chiotis. A.Grieco faced plenty of dangerous shots to earn the win in nets over his counterpart P.Turturici, who had a similar performance between the pipes.

Y.Laforest scores hat trick for Hit List in 7-3 win over Red Nose

Y.Laforest scored three goals, L.Richard and J-F Huppe each riffled a pair and the Hit List now share third spot of the division with three teams. The Hit List pulled away by the eleven minute mark of the second period after being awarded two power play chances. Y.Laforest was behind bagging both goals in only one minute to complete his hat trick. Only three players scored for the Hit List that saw J-F Huppe collect the most points with five. As for Red Nose, the struggles continue despite adding plenty of key pieces to their lineup.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Anthony Grieco of the Romans. Limiting the Icons to only one goal in regulation time along with one goal in a shootout isn’t easy by any standards. But Grieco was able to do the improbable in a tight 3-2 win over the Icons.
