NWV and Pas de Talent each celebrate wins

A good start in the opening game led Les Pas de Talent to a close 3-2 win. After grabbing a 2-0 lead with goals by M.Gagnon and Y.Gazura, Les Pas de Talent used a big power play goal by J.Poirier to make the difference in the contest. The NWV only got on the board as of the second frame with the help of A.Hakim and T.Ferreira. It’s not often the NWV drop games as they made sure to erase what just happened with a bounce back performance. This time, they were the ones with the better start. Y.Mouchaca struck early, but it was the clicking duo between P.Scotti and T.Ferreira that propelled their club to even the series. Both players complemented each other for three straight goals to combine with six points. The NWV led 3-2 after one period before shutting the door the rest of the way. B.Madonis earned the win in nets after facing 18 shots. Les Pas de Talent won the opening battle 3-2 while the NWV took the second game 4-2.

Short of players led to the inevitable

There wasn’t much the Blue Jackets could have done to compete with no changes to their bench. The Hitmen took note of the situation and did what they needed to do with ease. Danny Caissie got the ball rolling posting the games first two goals and Hitmen never looked back en route to a convincing 7-0 win. The Blue Jackets knew they had no hope for any sort of comeback but had the opportunity to take advantage of their power play with three chances. But it was the Hitmen responding instead with back to back shorthanded goals. C.Baccioglia scored his second on the disadvantage. Y.Kirouac also added a pair while J.Collot rejected 12 shots for his shutout. The second contest wasn’t much different with the score being the same. The Hitmen ended the night a little earlier bagging seven goals in only eight minutes. Dave Caissie and Danny Caissie collected a pair of goals each to combine with nine points. J.Ferraro was heavily involved earning five points, and for a second straight game, J.Collot was perfect allowing nothing on 6 shots. The Hitmen won both games 7-0 & 7-0.

Nelmar and Team X each grind out wins

Once Nelmar scored to take the lead, Team X found themselves struggling all game long. R.Jorquera and S.Pion made the score 2-0 after one period and Nelmar frustrated their opponents by keeping them off the score sheet for nearly the entire game. Thanks to a solid performance between the pipes, F.Vigliotti did more than his share making plenty of key saves. Team X attempted 16 shots and solved the veteran net minder only once very late in the game. With a chance to redeem themselves, Team X showed more desperation by the second game. A.El-Haddad cracked the barrier with plenty of patience to solve Vigliotti. That was El-Haddad’s first of three on the night. Team X won the opening frame 2-1 before adding three more by the second to split the mini-series. Nelmar had to play from behind but did even the score at one point only to see A.Jalilvand regain the lead for Team X with a blistering slap shot. After facing 16 shots, M.Trivisonno bounced back to earn the win in nets. Nelmar captured the opener with a 3-1 result but dropped the second game 5-2.

Yet to taste defeat, 1 Timer continue to make noise

The orange machine won’t be slowing down any time soon as they end the night with two more wins. P-A Surprenant keeps scoring as the power forward tallied twice in the opening contest for a 4-2 double up win over the Dirty Dozen. The 1 Timer got their opponents off guard building a 3-1 first period lead before trading goals by the second. T.Daigneault bagged the winner on the power play coming very late in the opening frame. After putting this loss behind them, the Dirty Dozen made things very interesting by the second game. The match went scoreless for over a period until D.Guerrera put the Dirty Dozen on the board. With time on their side, the Dirty Dozen looked to keep the 1 Timer off the score sheet but that didn’t transpire. It came to no surprise that if anyone was going to get that much needed goal would be from the hands of P-A Surprenant. The 1 Timer forward evened the score before eventually adding his second in an empty cage. The 1 Timer tilted the contest in the short span of two and a half minutes with three quick goals. C-Gagnon-Ethier riffled back to back tallies only 30 seconds apart and the 1 Timer escaped the night with another two wins. It may not have been a positive result but N.Fragos gave every chance possible for his club to defeat the defending champs with spectacular saves. The 1 Time took both games 4-2 & 4-1.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to P-A Surprenant of the 1 Timer. When in need of goals, the 1 Timer know that they can depend on their clutch forward. P-A Surprenant scored a total of four goals in two goals and was a major reason why his club remains undefeated.
