R.Campopiano hat trick propels Kings in game one

Both sides entered the night knowing that this series was going to be extremely close. With the style of game that both sides play, goals would be hard to come by except for R.Campopiano who did more than expected. His three goals coupled with B.Verducci’s brilliant play in net was just what the doctor ordered for the Kings. The H1G Boys did score first but suffered afterwards by allowing three straight tallies. T.Settino had a late golden opportunity to even the game with an awarded penalty shot but miss handled the ball at the last second. On the very last play of the game, B.Verducci somehow denied a sure goal on a desperation play that eventually came to haunt the H1G Boys. L.Mancini scored both goals in the loss. The goaltenders gave their clubs every chance possible to win the game that saw B.Verducci earn the win over his counterpart G.Follano.

H1G Boys battle back to even series

After grabbing a 4-1 lead, the H1G Boys clamped down for a 4-3 win to force a game three. L.Mancini continued his scoring on the power play by riffling a huge slap shot that hit the inside of the crossbar for a 2-0 lead. The H1G Boys showed plenty of determination, especially by the second period where the Kings seemed to have no legs. Still not out of it yet, A.Lanni carried the Kings back into the game netting two straight goals. The Kings also had a very good chance to end the series with a late power play chance but weren’t able to capitalize. G.Follano played to his level keeping his guys confident in front of him by making the necessary saves to even the series. P.Charbonneau got credited the winner just passed the mid way point of the match.

Verducci and Kings caps amazing post season

The way both teams are set up, the first goal was enormously important for either side. Eventually, somebody was going to get there and this time it was D.Verta of the Kings. Who better than someone that has the skill and ability to provide offence at the most needed time of the season. Despite falling behind, the H1G Boys had plenty of time to bounce back. The problem was that the Kings went into shutdown mode which eventually led to another huge tally from the captain C.Palermo. At that point it was all curtains. B.Verducci stood tall denying every shot despite nursing an injury suffered late in game one. The Kings had an average regular season finishing in seventh place but showed that they were a top notch contender by storming through three full rounds. Their experience and ability to remain structured throughout the entire playoffs paid plenty of dividends.
