(7)French Connection vs Street Ballers(6) O.T
P.Hargreaves wrap around goal lifts French Connection over Street Ballers
The lead was passed back and forth Thursday night, fromm one team to the other and back again. Three times the game swung and the French Connection won the seesaw battle with an overtime marker. With already two goals during regulation time, P.Hargreaves swung behind the net to end the game on a wrap around. The French Connection started strong building a 2-0 first period lead before falling apart giving up six straight goals. M.Beaudry shifted the momentum collecting a hat trick while A.Jalbert scored twice during that span. Normally a 6-2 lead after two periods feels like it’s more than enough, but that wasn’t the case for the Street Ballers as it was their turn to fall apart. The next five goals all belonged to the French Connection and just like that this contest turned on a dime.
(4)P.E.Y.O Vs SBS Trashers(4) S.O
Both sides meet early in spirited rematch
It wasn’t quite the playoff round both sides went through weeks ago, but it sure felt like it for a regular season match up. The SBS Trashers entered the night carrying a bitter taste and wanted nothing more than to take down the recent champs. For the most part, it was the P.E.Y.O in control by playing with the lead. J.Pantelis avoided a slow start to his season by ripping three goals and an assist. The SBS Trashers were stuck trailing most of the game but eventually gave themselves a chance when M.Elfassy posted his second to tie the game at four goals apiece. Despite playing for ten more minutes along with a sudden death frame, neither side were able to get it done. Not even in the shootout after sending three players each where both S.Brown and R.Pampena of the Trashers shined.
(7)Deadlast vs Bramabulls(1)
Deadlast romps past Bramabulls
A goaltending duel between F.Vigliotti and G.Follano failed to materialize on Thursday night as Deadlast crushed the Bramabulls. Vigliotti shows no signs of slowing down as the veteran net minder lived up to the hype denying all but one goal. With the help of their captain, C.Zafiropoulos was the only player to score twice along with a helper. The game was fairly close for two periods but that all changed by the third where Deadlast added three more tallies. If Deadlast can hand a team like the Bramabulls this kind of loss, then maybe they will be targeted as a front runner. After all, they did fall short in a very close final versus the P.E.Y.O.
(2)Eagles vs Mohicans(7)
Mohicans score four goals in second period in 7-2 win over Eagles
The Mohicans pounced on the Eagles in the second period, scoring four goals and showed no mercy with two more by the third. A.Daher, captain of his club and L-P Rocque each scored twice while S.Lachapelle stopped every Eagle except for S.Courtemanche. The Eagles felt handcuffed as they struggled to claw back into the game. Knowing that every match counts for precious points, the Eagles can’t afford to start this session like the last one. Every game will matter, and with still plenty of time, K.Certosini will have to take it a game at a time to figure out ways to collect some wins.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Patrick Hargreaves of the French Connection. On a beautiful play behind the net, the quick forward ended the game on a wrap around goal to complete his hat trick and give the French Connection a remarkable come from-behind victory.
