(4)Street Ballers vs Eagles(5)
Ballers take late penalty, Eagles win off S.Courtemanche power-play goal
S.Courtemanche was at the right place at the right time on Thursday night. The Eagles forward found the back of the net with 15 seconds remaining to end the contest in a dramatic fashion. That goal was part of a resilient comeback that included three third period markers. The Eagles fell behind trailing 2-0 and 3-1 before mounting their eventual comeback. T.Daigneault began the surge with back to back tallies right before his club took advantage of two third period power play goals. The Street Ballers also saw their five man unit work getting tallies by M.Lapierre and his captain M.Gibeault. If not for three consecutive calls, the Street Ballers may have had a different fate.
(3)UHC vs Mohicans(2)
UHC power Mohicans courtesy of two power play goals
Give them time and space and the UHC will surely make you pay. The veteran side licks their chops every time they have the man advantage as tonight was just another example of how good they move the ball. S.DelGaudio and his captain B.Patel provided the scoring with the five man unit while C.Siconolfi got the other tally. The Mohicans may have pulled this one out if they avoided visiting the penalty box so many times. The good news is that it’s very early in the season and the loss came against the recent F3 Wednesday division champions. Captain A.Daher and Y.Sigouin each scored in the loss as the only two players to figure out F.Chau.
(6)French Connection vs Underdogs(3)
French Connections click in double up win over Underdogs
The game started conservative for both sides as nineteen minutes past before the first goal went in. Plenty of action occurred by the second period with the French Connection escaping the frame up 3-2.P.Hargreaves hasn’t missed a beat fromm last week’s performance as the forward got the ball rolling with two second period goals. The Underdogs fought back to tie the game but that only lasted 20 seconds as J.Farrese regained the lead for the French Connection. The solid centre man wasn’t done just yet by setting up his captain N.Viau before adding his second to cap off the night. Its only two games in but the French Connection are pleased with their 2-0 record.
(5)Werewolves vs SBS Trashers(4)
Trashers still searching for 45 minute effort in frustrating loss to Werewolves
Yes it’s early in the season but the SBS Trashers don’t like the troubling trend after two games. In this game, they fell behind early often looking half asleep before steadying the ship in the right direction. The Werewolves came prepared and got rewarded for what they worked hard for. J.Guerriero and D.Traversy each scored twice to help build a 4-0 lead. The SBS Trashers only got on board late in the second period. And although momentum took a massive swing, time became their worst enemy. J.Scalia and his captain E.Panzera battled back combining for six points but couldn’t get to the finish line on time. M.Minkiewicz got credited the winner after posting an early third period tally.
(6)P.E.Y.O vs Deadlast(4)
P.E.Y.O win heated rematch over Deadlast
Both sides approached this contest like it was the final only a few weeks ago. Instead, it was only three points taken by the defending champs with a 6-4 result early in the season. For two full periods, the P.E.Y.O showed why they took their rival out not to long ago. The score was 4-1 after two periods until there was finally a fight back fromm Deadlast. P.Elizardo and J.Velenosi scored only two minutes apart to pull within one. Then, C.Chirola completed the comeback, at least for 15 seconds as S.Marashlian regained the lead immediately for the P.E.Y.O. Already with a pair of markers, J.Courteau ended the night by nodding his third in an empty cage.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Joe Guerriero of the Werewolves. The sniper showed no pity for his friends on the other side with two goals and two assists.
