(6)Communist’s vs Capitals (2)
Communists overcome sleepy start with second half explosion
Unable to get any scoring done, the Communists slogged through the first half of the game as they tried to hit their stride. Eventually the dry spell ended and the machine opened up. J-P McCann and J.Provost-Blais each scored before the end of the second period with their first of two in the match. The two teams went scoreless for half the game and it was clear the Communists needed to wake up. The Capitals lasted as long as they could keeping the game close but weren’t able to keep pace as the match went on. A.Boucher scored twice in the loss as the only player to figure out J.Vrettis. This was the first of two games in a double header night for J.Adamou and his troops.
(2)Bramabulls vs Legacy(3)
Bulls give up two late goals in loss to Legacy
Despite holding Legacy to only one goal in 44 minutes, the Bramabulls were denied the win on Tuesday night. In just a blink of an eye, O.Wahid and E.Girouard’s late power play marker rattled a whole bench that was only seconds away for a positive outcome. Each side played to a 1-1 tie after two periods before the Bramabulls captain A.DiPerna put his club ahead in hopes of playing with the lead. But sometimes things tend to end in a dramatic fashion. In tonight’s contest, Legacy managed to pull it off with some desperation and getting the ball bouncing their way. To their credit, they never once let up and played it till the very end to pull out a remarkable win. Maybe they took a page out of the Patriots phenomenal comeback in super bowl week end. Whatever the reasons, Legacy found a way to take it in the end.
(5)Communists vs Smooth Sailors(1)
Unprepared Sailors never recuperated
The Smooth Sailors know that they need all the important minutes in order to compete with a team like the Communists. After being awarded two team goals for lateness, the Communists dictated the game their way. The lead got challenged once towards the end of the second period when J.Palmitano scored to cut the lead in half, but that was as good as it got. The Communists took over the third period with three unanswered goals. T.Provost-Blais, P.Arkalis and D.Provost-Jarry each tallied to complete a perfect double header night. In both games, J.Vrettis faced closed to 50 shots allowing only three goals. The net minder also collected an assist in helping set up the third marker.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to John Vrettis of the Communists. Vrettis collected two wins in only three hours to help lead his club to a 4-1 record and first place of the division.
