(4)United Arms vs Gladiateurs(3)
Y.Derohannessian helps United Arms complete comeback
Y.Derohannessian scored the tying goal and added an insurance marker in the third period to help rally his club past Les Gladiateurs. For two straight periods, les Gladiateurs felt fine with their slight lead against a team like the United Arms. Unfortunately, a third period meltdown shifted the game in the other direction. The United Arms found their magic providing three goals in only six and a half minutes. R.Kenadjian stood tall stopping 29 of 31 shots. The win puts the United Arms alone in first place with a 4-1 record.
(6)Hellfish vs Les Raymonds(3)
Hellfish defeat Les Raymonds behind three power play goals
The Hellfish were off to the races early posting four first period goals, protecting their goalie B.Verducci for nearly two full periods before giving up their first tally. After that commanding lead, the Hellfish went dry keeping the game idle up until the six minute mark of the third period when they riffled their third power play goal. W.Blanc helped set up three straight markers while M.Revolorio struck twice as the only multi goal scorer of the contest. It came in a losing cause but J.Lafortune did more than his share setting up all three goals for Les Raymonds.
(3)Raging Rhinos vs Black Venom(10)
Black Venom crushes Rhinos for top spot of F2 division
The goals came and they came often as Black Venom toppled the Raging Rhinos in what was a disappointing match. Both clubs sit high in the standings, but the Black Venom showed why they are deserving of top spot after putting forth a lopsided performance. Naturally, B.Deslauriers will get involved, especially when his club nods ten goals. The power forward led the way bagging a hat trick with goals in every period. The Black Venom also had J.Quesnel-Vinet and A.Jalilvand go to work as both players each scored twice. In every single period, the Raging Rhinos lost the battle by at least a pair of goals with nothing go right their way.
(3)Fat Cats vs HC Inter(6)
P-L Poirier hat trick, six points power HC Inter over the Fat Cats
Give him the ball and something will surely happen. P-L Poirier looked to be in a league of his own as the HC Inter forward was too much to handle for the Fat Cats defence. Poirier made the best with every situation providing three helpers before posting three straight goals for a hat trick. Each side kept if close in the first half of the game with the score levelled at two goals apiece. Then, the tides shifted in only one direction with the HC Inter taking over the contest with four of the next five goals. The win did come with the help of J-L Pietroniro, who held the fort in net allowing one goal per frame. The only positive that the Fat Cats will take was the fact of netting two power play goals by S.Hrivnak and J.Guerriero.
(3)Reapers vs Latin Blue(4)
Two streaks end, Latin Blue celebrate first win of the season
Prior to the game, the odds makers would have surely favoured the 3-0 Reapers against a Latin Blue side that has yet to capture a win. But that didn’t discourage the veteran side to compete in what was a full out 45 minute effort. After another bad start to the night giving up two power play goals, the Latin Blue made the necessary adjustments to avoid an embarrassing start to the season. The turning point occurred in the second period in a short span of only two minutes. Led by their captain, E.Medrano tied the game right before A.Arcoraci gave the Latin Blue their first lead of the night. That goal came just passed the mid way point of the match. With still plenty of time to answer the bell, the Reapers found themselves snake bitten unable to solve F.Vigliotti anymore. The net minder frustrated his opponents over and over denying every ball for over two periods. The Latin Blue finally ended a streak that they didn’t anticipate, and did it versus a club that had a remarkable start to the season.
(7)Horsemen vs Bolts(10)
Bolts outlast Horsemen with football score
It was a game that gave both goalie’s nightmares. Apart fromm putting the blame on the net minders, the defence also took a holiday in this battle. There was more than enough offense to go around with the Bolts outscoring the Horsemen by a touchdown and a field goal versus only one touchdown. With the game tied at three after one period, the Bolts broke it open by the second winning the frame 5-1.E.Felesakis may have notched the most important tally out of the seventeen that went in. His goal came shorthanded to put the Bolts up by three which just made the hill to high to climb for the Horsemen. The Bolts scored twice on the power play in addition to the short handed tally. E.Felesakis had the most goals with a hat trick for the Bolts while M.Chartrand did the same for the Horsemen.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Pier Luc Poirier of HC Inter. In all six goals, the HC Inter forward had an involvement that included a hat trick.
