(7)Mohicans vs French Connection(4) E2
Mohicans Thierry Lord shreds French Connection with four goals
With his team needing a spark, T.Lord came through with a memorable game bagging four goals and two assists on Thursday night. The star forward added his fourth goal and second assist with just two minutes remaining to finish off an electrifying night. The French Connection weren’t let down with their go to guy J.Farrese, who had a similar performance netting a hat trick while setting up J-F Belanger. J.Vinet contributed in the win posting two third period goals. The Mohicans simply won this battle by outlasting an older side with three late markers.
(2)Werewolves vs Deadlast(3) E1
Werewolves rally falls short to Deadlast
If not for a disorganized start, the Werewolves may have had a different outcome. But with net minder P.Turturici late for duty, Deadlast seized the opportunity with a power play goal. C.Zafiropoulos just kept his blade on the ground to re direct a perfect feed by C.Chirola. That was the first of two for the captain who keeps showing how effective he is in front of the net. After falling behind by a wide gap, the Werewolves finally got on board with a tip in goal by V.Miraldo. The Werewolves d-man wasn’t done yet as he added a second power play marker to pull within one. Unfortunately, time became the Werewolves worse enemy, and Deadlast was able to hold off a nail biter.
(7)Bramabulls vs P.E.Y.O(6) E1
D.Verta’s soft hands lead Bramabulls to wild 7-6 shootout win
S.Brown may have felt sluggish but the net minder still gave the P.E.Y.O a great chance to win the game. The problem was that the Bramabulls weren’t interested in ever giving up. The luxury of rolling three lines led to a pair of third period markers that eventually got decided in the shootout. It was only fitting that D.Verta was one of many options by A.DiPerna to take a breakaway. D.Verta tallied twice during the match while scoring the lone shootout marker. His fake gave little chance for S.Brown as the crafty forward made him move just enough to squeeze the ball between his legs on the back hand. Despite the amount of goals that went in, both net minders stayed on top of their game. Each side has plenty of fire power which can only suggest for a high scoring affair. G.Follano’s biggest moment came in the shootout as the Bramabulls net minder denied all three attempts by the P.E.Y.O. In addition to the win, B.Sansotta was key providing two goals and an assist.
(2)Underdogs vs UHC(3) E2
Underdogs surrender two power play goals, UHC extend winning streak
Special teams were the difference in this contest as the UHC connected twice with the man advantage to hand the Underdogs a slight 3-2 loss. That sequence happened only seconds apart with J-F Aumais and K.Fiore each scoring for a 3-0 lead. But the Underdogs didn’t get too rattled by responding only a few minutes later courtesy of A.Sayed. Then, M.Habib scored early in the third period and all of a sudden this game was far fromm being over. As much as the Underdogs had a chance to level, J.Sanoudakis had other plans remaining exceptionally sharp between the pipes. The net minder faced 27 shots to help lead his club to a perfect 4-0 start to the season.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Thierry Lord of the Mohicans. Unable to be contained, T.Lord had his way with the French Connection collecting six points that included four goals.
