(3)Communists vs Legacy(6)
E.Girouard’s hat trick helps Legacy roar past Communists
The Communists could not stop the Legacy forward E.Girouard , who tallied a hat trick along with two helpers in a 6-3 win. The right handed sniper got on the score sheet late in the first period before netting back to back goals by the second for a 5-2 Legacy lead. By then, it was just about keeping the Communists in check and Legacy did just that apart from-allowing one tally. While it seems impossible to blank J.Provost-Blais from-the score sheet, the Communist ringer was limited to two goals which is just about average for his standards. Legacy also had D.Bertrand chip in with a pair while P.Assadi helped set up three markers. This was the first of two games in a double header night for Legacy.
(4)Capitals vs Bramabulls(3)
Struggling Bulls can’t seem to catch a break
Some unfortunate scenarios are preventing the Bramabulls to keep up in the standings. With only four games left to go, A.DiPerna and the Bramabulls will need to approach every remaining game as must wins if they plan on making the playoffs. Tonight, they fell short to the hands of the Capitals, one of three teams that were in striking distance prior to the night. But with this loss along with Legacy and the Smooth Sailors capturing wins, the task became that much harder. The Bramabulls had to fight playing from-behind most of the night unable to force an equalizer. The Capitals did an excellent job controlling the pace their way while getting some balanced scoring. The winner came off the blade of T.Bertin by the eight minute mark of the third period. That goal put the Capitals up 4-2 which was more than enough time to hang on for the win.
(4)Smooth Sailors vs Legacy(3)
M.Testolina & N.Cordileone leads surging comeback for 4-3 win over Legacy
Legacy played well for all but one out of six periods in their double header night. Maybe it was a question of some tired legs as the damage occurred only in the final frame. The Smooth Sailors upped their gear in large part due to M.Testolina and N.Cordileone’s clicking effect as both players proved too be too much for the opposition. Both players were involved in all three third period goals combining for six points. J.Belzile did tie the game for Legacy but that only lasted two minutes as M.Testolina responded with the winner. The win was extremely satisfying for the Smooth Sailors who can now breathe a little with a comfortable gap over last place.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Eric Girouard of Legacy. His three goals and two assists helped his club collect a nice win over the first place Communists.
