N.Gikas emerging as a top finisher

N.Gikas is starting to emerge as a prolific goal scorer in his young ball hockey career. It’s hardly a coincidence that anyone can just score at will like the young superstar did on Thursday night. In the second period alone, N.Gikas made the opposing net minder turn his head around three straight times. After posting his natural hat trick, the young forward stapled the night with his fourth to finish with an impressive five point game. Deadlast doesn’t only have one player in their arsenal of fire power up front. C.Chirola is just another name that keeps reappearing as the lanky forward produced four points. With only one loss in seven games, Deadlast is showing why they are on top, and that his primarily due to their speed and talent up front.

(4)Werewolves vs Bramabulls(5) E1

Karasek’s late goal propels Bulls over Werewolves

T.Karasek scored his second goal late in the game, helping the Bramabulls to win another tight battle in the E1 division. This was the second time both sides met with the first meeting ending in a similar fashion. The only difference being that there was only 2.5 seconds remaining on the clock in the first encounter. Tonight, the Bramabulls grabbed their late lead with just 33 seconds left to go adding more salt to the wound. The Werewolves played a great game considering missing at least 3-4 decent pieces. D.Traversy was buzzing all night along with A.Zarzoiur as both players combined for six points. The Bramabulls, aside-from T.Karasek clutch goals, also had B.Sansotta stream the lime light riffling three markers that included his signature slap shot from- centre rink.

(3)Eagles vs Underdogs(4) E2

Eagles miss out on precious points

The Eagles hopes of catching a playoff spot took a significant hit in their close 4-3 loss to the Underdogs. It came in an unfortunate situation as they saw their 3-2 third period lead get compromised. The bad news hit really late when E.Salhany scored with only 29 seconds left on the clock .The Underdogs did what they usually do and that is to work hard all game long while getting balanced production. The win guarantees them a playoff spot with only two games remaining. As for the Eagles, they aren’t out just yet, but the chances look dim as certain scenarios are now required for a playoff spot.

(3)UHC vs French Connection(6) E2

French Connection use big first period to down UHC

It took the French Connection only one period to get most of their scoring done. The French Connection played one of its best defensive games of the season, limiting a team like the UHC to only three goals. Of course that has to come with the help of their net minder which in this case that would be F.Gaudet-Peloquin. The UHC peppered him with 27 shots only to keep getting snake bitten. Apart-from the goaltending, J.Noonan was another key component as the forward scored both goals on two power play opportunities while his captain N.Viau was just as vital with two first period markers. This win puts the French Connection within striking distance of first place.

(3)Mohicans vs Street Ballers(4) E2 O.T

Third period rally sees Ballers erase two goal deficit, win in overtime

Just when the Mohicans felt comfortable enough for a positive outcome, the Street Ballers made their presence felt in the third. The Street Ballers woke up- from the dead netting two third period goals only to bring it a step further by notching the eventual OT winner. Y.Dube was behind three of the four goals that went in. The lanky number 96 scored once while setting up P.Chartier and J.Furtado for the sudden death winner. This result couldn’t have come at a better time for a team that strung two straight wins together. Although nothing is guaranteed, the Street Ballers can breathe a lot easier with the result.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Bruno Sansotta of the Bramabulls. In a close 5-4 decision over the Werewolves, B.Sansotta kept putting up the number by riffling a hat trick.
