Seven-goal D.Pelletier leaves Jokers spellbound

D.Pelletier scored seven goals in two games in one of the most dominant displays so far this season for Les Yables. D.Pelletier took over the show as of the second period of the first game where he did all of the damage for his club with four markers. Les Yables battled back after trailing 2-1 en route to their 5-2 win. The Jokers got a strong start to the night by their captain M.Timeo, who notched two goals and an assist. The second game had a different start with Les Yables continuing fromm where they left off. At this point, the Jokers still couldn’t figure out how to slow down D.Pelletier. The forward collected three points by the first period that killed the Jokers off. D.Marcotte was also heavily involved scoring twice while setting up Pelletier on two occasions. The Jokers attempted 33 shots in both games getting only one tally in the second courtesy of J.Blouin.

1 Timer come close but fall short twice

Both clubs were expecting tight games on Monday night. R.Ranieri and F.Koch knew they would have a big impact on whatever happened. Only one team came out on top though, with Venom taking both games by a very close margin. The first encounter had both net minders take charge. The match ended in favor of Venom taking it 2-1 in the shootout. R.Ranieri won that battle by denying all three shooters over his counterpart F.Koch, who couldn’t stop B.Deslauriers. The second contest all though was close, saw more goals go in. Venom jumped to a 3-1 first period lead forcing the 1 Timer to battle back. And while the comeback was in effect, the 1 Timer couldn’t force the extra time. For a second straight game, B.Deslauriers made the difference. This time, the power forward scored the opening goal, provided an assist, and capped it off in fashion with the game winning tally. A.Jalilvand was part of the win as well collecting points in all four goals.

B.Madonis 28 saves helps Carnage collect big points

Carnage goalie B.Madonis was hard to beat on Monday night. After collecting a shutout in the opening game, the Carnage net minder had a slight hiccup early in the second contest but that didn’t prevent his team-from bouncing back. Out of their nine goals, M.Pace posted three of them while setting up three different teammates. Carnage only erupted as of the second period of the first game where they trounced the 23rd Hour with four unanswered goals. Unable to get much of anything going, the 23rd Hour did end their dry spell by the second contest. Captain P.Salvo and G.Perreault finally cracked B.Madonis in less than a minute giving their club a 2-0 lead. However, it took only seconds after that for Carnage and M.Pace to get back to work. Pace notched back to back goals in just over two minutes before setting up the go ahead marker by S.Giannoulakis. Once Carnage grabbed their lead, the 23rd Hour fell back in their scoring drought unable to solve B.Madonis.

Good for one game but not enough for two

More and more as the season progresses, there didn’t seem to be any indication that the Punishers would lose a game. And although they have yet to drop one so far, Team X came that close to ending the streak. They did however remove points by settling for a 3-3 draw in the opening contest. Team X led 2-0 with both goals by F.Remon before C.Gingras came to haunt his opponents. The lanky forward scored twice in only a minute to force the eventual extra time. From-there, nothing really got settled as both net minders stopped two out of the three shooters. In order to have a chance, Team X knew they needed another solid start to the second game. Unfortunately, things went from bad to worst very early. C.Gingras was at it again jump starting the Punishers barely 30 seconds in. Then, it was the captain J.Fidrilis coming through for a quick 2-0 lead. The Punishers simply out hustled their opponents with more energy that resulted in eight goals. Gingras finished the contest with a hat trick while his teammate M.Gagnon buried a pair of second period goals for good measure. F.Remon collected three helpers that resulted in two goals by J.Pantelis of Team X.
