(6)Punisher’s vs Dragons (0) Game 1
Punishers hose down Dragons with early 3-0 lead
The Dragons just came off a four game hot winning streak only to see it freeze up in their opening game versus the Punishers. The Dragons know that they are over matched with the Punishers speed which can only force them to slow things down and hope to keep the game close as long as possible. However, that didn’t transpire on this night as the Punishers simply had their way-from the start. T.Karvouriaris didn’t score but was responsible for setting up four different teammates. A.Tedone struck first that proved to be just enough for the winner while N.Mackeen was very pleased the way his team played in front of him to earn a shutout.
(1)Trappers vs Armadillos(2) Game 1
D.Andrade scores late winner as Armadillos top Trappers
The Trappers couldn’t help feel like they let an opportunity slip away. The Trappers play well enough for period of times before a late marker decided the outcome of this contest. D.Andrade came through with only two minutes left that snapped a late 1-1 tie. Neither side got on board up until the third period. S.Richer struck first for the Trappers with a power play goal. Then, G.Bouchard was able to respond only three minutes later to put the game back on an even playing field. It was a game that both sides heavily relied on their last line of defense which is the goaltending. J.Richer and C.Stavriadis are as good as it gets and it showed all game long where it took a full 45 minute effort-from both sides in order to have chance. The loss may feel bitter for the moment but the Trappers won’t go down easily knowing that they can win.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Donny Andrade of the Armadillos. With only two minutes remaining, the Armadillos forward celebrated a huge goal in a close 2-1 win over the Trappers.
