(3)Fatal Demons vs Shockers(5)
Late-game rally not enough for Fatal Demons, Shockers improve to 2-0
The Shockers got off to the start they wanted carrying a 2-1 first period lead with a pair of goals-from the clicking trio of M.Blackman, C.Debonis and M.Martin. Both tallies came- from Blackman, who scored only four minutes apart .The top ranked Shockers clearly outplayed the Fatal Demons in the first two periods where they built their lead to 4-1.With an opportunity to cut the lead in half, the Fatal Demons just complicated their situation by giving up a crucial shorthanded goal. T.Salberg shocked his opponent with that tally to put his club in complete control of the game. Based on the first two periods, this contest appeared to be an easy night for the Shockers, but that wasn’t the case in the last 15 minutes of play. The Fatal Demons eventually made a game of it by notching two goals by J.Bolanakis and G.Demarinis. At that point, the Fatal Demons were only one shot on net to tying the game but were unable to complete their rally as T.Salberg sealed matters in an empty net. M.Martin collected his third point for the game winner and D.Bourque was solid in net stopping 21 of 24 shots.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Matthew Martin of the Shockers. The forward collected three points that included the game winner late in the second period.
