(2)Street Ballers vs Bramabulls(1) O.T
M.Gibeault’s blast-from the point & S.Sauk’s brilliant goaltending lead Ballers over Bulls
After ripping a powerful shot- from far, M.Gibeault and the Street Ballers celebrated a hard fought overtime win over the Bramabulls .S.Sauk pitched a 21 save performance and received a deserved group hug after making plenty of key saves. The Bramabulls got their lone goal thanks to A.Maraventano but were unable to get that extra tally because of the Street Ballers tight game and brilliant goaltending by Sauk. Looking back, the Bramabulls started off with a disadvantage being down 1-0 because of a late start to the game. But despite being down, time wasn’t an issue to bounce back which they did only to run into a wall. M.Gibeault took advantage of a 4-3 power play opportunity in the sudden death period to help capture the win.
(6)SBS Trashers vs Deadlast(8) S.O
SBS Trashers on losing end of back and forth action with Deadlast
For the few spectators watching, not much more can be said about this game. This matchup had everything any ball hockey fan could possibly want in this contest. Both teams had terrific chances-from plenty of talented players. In the case of the SBS Trahsers, P.Hodhod has been a pillar on defense but is starting to show more and more that he can be a threat to the other team’s net miner. The SBS Trashers benefited with three goals thanks to their star defenseman. As for Deadlast, the offense was a little more spread out. P.Elizardo did have a multi goal night that also included a shootout goal. After being down 6-4 late in the game, the SBS Trashers stormed back with two desperate goals only to fall short in the extra time.
(5)Carnage vs Raging Rhinos(9)
Rhinos use a second period explosion to blow past Carnage
In the blink of an eye, the Raging Rhinos ignited some fireworks in the second period. Five of their goals came in an eight minute span to spiral the game into only one direction. A.Papazian tallied in every period to finish with the most goals while E.Brady was next in line bagging a pair as part of a four point night. The Raging Rhinos look to be running on all cylinders with only one loss in six games. Carnage knew they would have a hard night in front of them missing some key elements. A.Passarelli had a solid season debut for Carnage posting three goals while C.Moutafis was productive as well with three helpers.
(6)Spartans vs Dragons(14)
New addition Payan Assadi hits double digit numbers
As odd as the score may look like, this contest was only 6-4 for the Dragons after two periods. Unfortunately, the Spartans couldn’t stay long enough within the Dragons rear view mirror-from that point which led to a one sided affair .Averaging a goal less than a minute apart, the Dragons just kept pouring it on. P.Assadi dressed for the first time and made an immediate impact to reach double digits with ten points. However, it wasn’t Assadi closing the deal, he just delivered it with nine assists. The closer came largely-from N.Goncalves, who had another remarkable night riffling five goals. With this performance, the Dragons sniper has now reached 13 markers in only five games.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Scott Sauk of the Street Ballers. Broken and busted up as he might feel at times, the veteran goaltender was sensational on this night and was the reason why the Street Ballers took the game in overtime versus the Bramabulls.
