S.Kouliers scores twice as Fatal demons beat Butchers 6-4

A pair of deadly wrist shorts by S.Kouliers along with some balanced scoring made the difference in this contest. The Fatal Demons struck early and had the luxury to play with the lead for most of the night. The Butchers may have lost this battle in the second period where they were under siege allowing three goals. J.Bolanakis used a late second period tally that ultimately doomed the mood for the Butchers. This was a first of two games of a double header night for the Butchers, who despite the loss had a strong finish collecting two goals courtesy of A.Latella and M.Saia.

Depleted Lumberjacks battle Shockers until the end

Unlike their previous thrashing between the two sides, the Lumberjacks showed lots of grit and determination on this night. After two of their better players being ejected early, the Lumberjacks kept their focus and gave the Shockers a real run for their money. It wasn’t till the later stages of the contest that the Shockers felt some sort of relief. M.Martin and his captain J.Blackman used two late goals that snapped a long dreaded 3-3 tie. T.Salberg scored only once but it may have been the game’s biggest goal due to the fact that it came in a shorthanded situation. The Lumberjacks had every fighting chance to cause an upset and can thank their goaltender N.Mackeen, who was sensational keeping the game close.

Always drama, Butchers get final say

After their third and final meeting, the rivalry between the Butchers and Team Cuba ended once more in a dramatic fashion. The two previous encounters finished with one going into overtime while the other coming with less than a minute remaining. As for this contest, it wasn’t any different with the Butchers winning the season battle with a late tally. A.Latella simply ran to the net and picked up a loose ball that ultimately doomed Team Cuba. The game had no one grab a two goal lead which saw both sides with limited momentum. M.Zampino had a multi goal performance for the Butchers as K.Kersaint did for Team Cuba.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Nikita Mackeen of the Lumberjacks. It’s not often a member of the losing side merits the honor but N.Mackeen was just too good on this night. The net minder made extremely good saves and almost stole the game against a solid Shockers team.
