Team X finishes strong in split with Carmoni de Fabreville

After dropping their opening game,Team X put together one of their better efforts to end a mini slump. Les Carmoni de Fabreville didn’t have much on the line holding a secure second spot while the same couldn’t be said for Team X, who desperately needed some points in order to stay in the race. D.Desmarais was very productive netting two goals and an assist in the first game that resulted in a convincing 4-1 result. Team X struggled to score but managed to get one by P.Corbin courtesy of A.Zarzour despite putting plenty of pressure for most of the period. With the first game out of the way, and after suffering three straight loses, the men in yellow were put to the test once more to see if they could have broken an ugly streak. And while it wasn’t easy, a pair of power play opportunities led to two quick goals by D.Galloro and D.Ramada for a 3-0 lead. Still, it didn’t feel secure with plenty of hockey left over. Les Carmoni De Fabreville weren’t giving any free passes and it showed as of the second period were they strung two straight markers by V.Parise and A.Sevigny. Despite grabbing all that momentum, a breakaway tally by S.Marricco regained a two goal cushion for Team X, who never looked back. P.Assadi was rock solid having made some crucial timely saves enabling his club to collect three important points.

Firebreathers heating up at right time

When considering the amount of experience and some very talented players that the Firebreathers have, it’s no surprise that they are coming out of nowhere and making plenty of noise in the Monday night division. Both these games were as big as it gets, especially when it’s against a first place team. The Punishers did manage to take the opening contest but in a shootout where T.Karvouriaris was the only player to score for the two sides. A.Dayan bagged a hat trick while A.Centis participated in all four goals with assists. The Firebreathers got two goals and a pair of helpers by B.Daniele, who is an essential piece to the puzzle if his club plans to make it into the post season. After dropping the tight battle, the Firebreathers showed plenty of motivation by the second contest. Once again, B.Daniele came up clutch, this time snapping a 2-2 tie while setting up B.Barile, who finished with an impressive four point game. A.Centis didn’t slow done despite the loss as the solid forward collected two more helpers to finish his night with six assists. The Firebreathers just collected four key points against a very good hockey team which now puts them in striking distance of Team X and the 1 Timer for a playoff position.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Biaggo Daniele of the Firebreathers. The veteran quarterback showed how it’s done once more by collecting six points resulting in a win and a shootout loss for his club.
