F Wednesday Playoffs

Wednesday August 30(F2 & F3 semi finals)

(3)Acolytes vs Horsemen(5) F2 Game 2

Horsemen score five, coast to series sweep over Acolytes

The Horsemen figured another start strong would surely give them an advantage to taking out Les Acolytes on Wednesday night. And that’s exactly what they did building a 3-0 lead before conceding their first tally of the night. V.Pandza used a timely power play goal for the three goal cushion. M.Vinciguerra felt good at that point knowing the way his players were playing in front of him that eventually led to a 20 save victory. The Horsemen kept it simple playing hard playoff hockey that saw five different players find the back of the net. Like he was clutch in last week’s game, M.Chartrand riffled another big goal that proved to be the winner.

(6)Brew Crew vs Bramabulls(2) F2 Game 2

Bramabulls start strong, but fail to even the score

The Bramabulls know the type of game the Brew Crew like to play. Entering Wednesday’s matchup, the Bramabulls have been frustrated by the Brew Crew’s grind it out, muck it up style for most of the series. And with so much on the line in this crucial must win scenario, there was reason to expect much of the same. The Bramabulls have appeared to figure things out early grabbing a 2-0 lead. However, the Brew Crew weren’t buying it. Once S.Lodico overcame the deficit by putting his team in front, the Brew Crew buckled down, shoring up their patented neutral zone trap that would shut down any scoring-from that point on. The win came with only two players getting much of the scoring done. S.Lodico and D.Verta were an absolute force as both players’ notched hat tricks.

(7)Agents Libre vs Les Raymonds(3) F3 Game 2

Agents Libre blow out Les Raymonds to advance to big dance

Les Agents Libre were businesslike in their in their clinical 7-3 win on Wednesday night. They entered the night with only one goal and achieved it with conviction. L.DeCubellis was a big part of the success as the forward started off with a bang notching two first period goals before netting his third later on for the hat trick. This is the second straight game that Les Agents Libre scored at least seven goals with the first game ending in a 9-5 result. With that kind of fire power coupled with some solid goaltending by P.DelliColli, Les Agents Libre are thinking of only one thing right now that’s doesn’t need to me mentioned.

(5)Primetime vs Hellfish(9) F3 Game 2

It just doesn’t come that easy, Hellfish storm back to even the series

Primetime knew that despite taking game one only a week ago, that this contest was only going to be that much harder. When looking back at the reason why the Hellfish took the game to even the series, Primetime have to wonder how they let in so many power play goals that ultimately hurt their chances. The Hellfish smelled blood every time and made sure to take advantage of a given situation. Four out of their nine goals if you don’t include the late empty net marker all came with the man advantage. J-D Barrios was a monster providing four tallies while M.Chartrand was equally productive collecting five points. This result forced a game three mini game between the two sides to see who would punch their ticket to the final.

(2)Hellfish vs Primetime(0) F3 Game 3

Division leaders advance to final with thrilling 2-0 win over Primetime

Although it needed three games, the Hellfish are glad to close out their series with Primetime. Both sides knew anything can happen in only fifteen minutes is why the first goal is so crucial in these circumstances. It took just passed the mid-way point for S.Monnet to crack the ice to put the Hellfish up 1-0.That tally just complicated things for Primetime, who were playing for dear life to even the score. Unfortunately, the Hellfish weren’t planning on making it easy. With their tight playing style along with B.Verducci guarding the pipes, the writing on the wall was already written. The Hellfish ultimately sealed off the grinding series when F.Benhamadi bagged a late power play goal.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Jorge David Barios of the Hellfish. At a time of desperation, the Hellfish forward played on a mission striking four times to help even the series with Primetime forcing a third and deciding game.

After a gruelling semi-final round, the F2 & F3 divisions are down to two teams each. The finals will begin and end next Wednesday night. The match ups are as follows:

F2 division

(1)Horsemen vs Brew Crew(3) The Horsemen have the elements and most areas covered to win it all especially the way they have been playing for most of the season. The problem is that they are going up against a team that are built for this type of game, and that is playoff hockey. The Brew Crew will defend all series and make anyone pay on mistakes. Playing with the lead will be vital for both teams.

F3 division

(1)Hellfish vs Les Agents Libre(3) Normally, most teams who face adversity in the playoffs only get stronger in their conquest to the cup. The Hellfish just went through it in a deciding game three with Primetime after trailing 1-0 in the series. But Les Agents Libre won’t be paying attention to such notions. For them, they’ll just continue playing the same way knowing that they have a well-rounded hockey team and a chance to take it all.
